Yeah well when the refs give the whiners…err oilers preferential treatment then it’s difficult for honest teams to win…(frank) the oilers.

You have to admit the Oilers were dominating the overtime even before the penalty call. It was inevitable.

Goalies are a tough breed. I'll bet it doesn't even hurt his off season training.

Yeah goals against have been rising in the PO's every season now appears the mental stress of being able to stop the fucking puck eludes them...

They needed this win bad and their effort levels showed in OT. We have a series now.

We're all idiots here. It's sorta the unifying force that keeps this thread going. I can see where he's coming from though. It could get ugly if things don't change quickly.

I was being sarcastic about the idiot part, as Brooksie called me one for suggesting moving him.
I agree with your points you have been raising with him, this team is in a big mess, with little talent and very little capspace.
Going to be several more years of pain

Doom and gloom, or maybe be a little more positive hope for better things in life… Like Pettersson being ppg or better, Hughes back to winning the Norris, you know toxic positivity.

There has to be a scenario where Petey bounces back. However it will take Allvin and Rutherford some creative genius to provide Petey what he needs also to succeed here as it's clear he won't do it on his own. Bring Horvat back then go from there. Maybe MNGT could pry Barzal out of there too. Many options.

I was positive during the anomaly season, but quite honestly, and I am sure I have mentioned this before, trade Pouty.

Also, free Hughes

Get more Canadians

Get some players with size, skill and speed.

The season is over and a new one will begin in October, Pettersson will be ppg and Hughes will lead this team to the Conference Finals….toxic positivity is better than doom and gloom.

If Hughes is actually gonna walk, gotta ask for a haul and pull that trigger sooner..... Hughes plus D prospect for Nemec, Silayev, Mercer, 1st.

Silayev plus for Owen Power or Byram.

Power / Hronek
Pettersson / Nemec
D Petey / Myers

I wonder if next year isn't going well, they try and trade him at the TDL to maximize the return for two extra playoff runs from NJ.

The fact we are even contemplating trading Hughes is insane. I get it he may want out at one point but provide the kid what he needs to succeed here and all should be good. If it means trading Pettersson then so be it although I'd like to see Petey bounce back here and not on another club. Gonna be a big task for Rutherford and Allvin.

It's a reality of the situation of the team. If the team isn't turning it around next year by the TDL, management has to seriously consider maximizing it's biggest trade chip if Hughes has made it clear he will walk at the end of his deal.

It's a big offseason for Allvin and Co. Basically the fate of their franchise player rests on it.
