On Brock giving it 70/30 he still walks.
If he wants more term it goes down 600k-1m per year. 6/7.4m 7/7m. I’ve no problem if he walks if not a team friendly contract. I don’t like the 7th year either probably a long shot.

He will get more than that with how much teams with cap space out there. Not a lot more, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see 8 at all

Aah he’s never been dominant. Very good yes.

My bracket I picked

Jets in 5
Av’s in 6
VGK in 5
LAK in 7

Sens in 7
TB in 6
Caps in 5
Canes in 6

No money so picked Sens lol

- Nighthawk

Top ten in scoring is pretty dominant imo.

That's the opposition this series, quite a young team.

I'll try to have a scouting report on Zonnon and others sometime this weekend.

I don't find that to be very young. Look forward to your observations. Unfortunately, the Royals didn't make it through to the final 4. But I'll still be watching the conference finals on the app.

Maybe they're not that young, Moncton just has such a veteran team. Regardless, I'll enjoy checking out the future draft eligible players.

I'm going to try to catch the Q play the OHL Saturday the 24th in Rimouski. I should be travelling through again the following weekend so we'll see what transpires.

I'm finding it weird to see some of 20 year olds graduating to the NCAA teams they're committed to next year. D-1 is going to take a little getting used to for me over the next couple of seasons.

It must make more sense for most guys to go NCAA over pro. Continuing education at a reduced cost, ice time, exposure.

A shift on them choosing their own development route? Probably more TOI with older peers than the AHL

I wonder if it affects their CHL scholarship agreements in any way.

They get bought out? I really don't know, but sports in the US at the collegiate level dominate the landscape financially.

It would be a pretty sweet deal for the players that spend 4 years in the CHL. Then get a full ride in the NCAA for another 4. As it sits, that could mean 8 years of free education for those guys.

Agreed, and really it's the way it should be as long as they put in the dedication to both crafts.

Full ride sport scholarships are not across the board on all sports depends on the University. Football/Basketball tend to be full ride. Ivy league can be 2 sports & the academics for entrance. My buds niece was fastball & hammer throw honours student for Penn.

So the logic is, even though 5 out of 7 years he's been in the league he's been very good to dominant, we should focus on the most recent season (his worst) and assume he is that player for the rest of his career(even though he is 26). This is an interesting form of recency bias.

Go Stars baby! I put a futures bet on them bring home the cup at 19-1, not a bad start if they get to round 2 look out!

- neem55

How dare you exercise logic to make a point!!

We all know that once a player hits 26 years old - thats who they are forever. It becomes impossible to improve. Thats just basic grade 10-12 science.

BUT Its really weird how a player like Crosby for example - when he was 23,24, 25 those three seasons were riddled with serious injuries that most said he'd never return from, or at least ever be the player he once was. He only played 41, 22, 36 games those years and then when he was 26 he miraculously had a bounce back season - scored 104 points and has had 12 monster seasons since. He's an outlier tho.

I wonder if any other player in the history of the NHL ever bounced back from ONE poor season at the midway point of their career?? Probably not, based on Driftwood logic.

They're just a little emotional after realizing that their favourite team is about to embark on another 10 year 'retooling'.
