Get him locked up so you aren’t sitting there with less than you need to do so if Marner and his daddy yet again seek to squeeze every penny from the Leafs and the Leafs cave (which they probably will 🤮).

If they give him exactly the same AAV as Matthews, I think that would be enough to compromise and keep both sides content.

I'm actually VERY curious to see how things shake down with Marner. I'm sure he's a little insulted that they tried to move him for Rantanan, the last negotiation made him and his dad look like a$$holes, he was making significantly more than Willy on their last contracts, and I genuinely believe he doesn't want to play anywhere else.

It kinda feels like a have your cake and eat it too situation.
