He can score for sure, doesn't bring a whole lot of anything else

I'm going to be way more concerned with term moving forward than actual money and I'm OK with two years, especially if he gets moved in the 2nd year. Hopefully he can keep producing and be worth something.

- Gabe Athaus

Term is the key. The days of 7-year deals for all need to be over. You do not think Palms can be moved this upcoming deadline?

Lee to Sabres, yes please. I just don’t see how his style fits the new regimes want of fast hockey. 🤷‍♂️

Hopefully he’s gone by the deadline. Anytime you can get anything on an expiring contract it’s a win. Something Lou had a hard time with outside of Nelson. He just resigned people because he believed in this group.

True. Even if Palms was moved last year, doubtful he could get close to the Nelson return. Hopefully Nelson did not kill any value other Islanders vets might have.

Stefen Rosner

It was clear that Roy likes what Boqvist brings, even playing him at forward twice when at least one extra forward was available.

He's mobile, can defend & has an offensive mind.

No brainer to bring back the RFA RHD, who has shown an ability to play both sides.

Absolutely. Darche mentioned something about even when they were winning cups in Tampa they were always trying to improve. I like a GM who is actively trying to improve. Again, Lee’s skating doesn’t fit their style of fast pace, but the puck does move quicker than the body..

Exactly KR.
Being a fast team means moving the puck quickly and transitioning quickly.
Nothing quicker than that unless you are of course McJesus.
On Lee he brings variables that others don’t. Strong net front presence and also great hands in front. Plays the boards well and is also physical.
Teams need all types of talent and he certainly brings some.
29 goals isn’t bad for a terrible skating washed up 4 th liner.

That McDavid is somethin’ else. Every game I’m in awe of his puck control with that speed. The panthers have the advantage with Hyman out, but McDavid is McDavid and could just carry them all the way. It’s gonna be an amazing series.

He’s unreal really.
I think teams win but he does have exceptional talent and if
One player could lift a team on his back it would be him.
I am routing for the Vats.

I don’t think he’s a washed up 4th liner and his net presence is elite. I just don’t see him fitting their style but we will see.

No he’s not.
I’m just referencing what the fan base said a couple seasons ago. Blah blah blah.
He has a skill set and a function on this team and does it well.
He’ll be hading the reins to Horvat as far as the Captaincy when he’s gone imho.

Wow look at the Rangers letting their fans know they were rebuilding in a letter. A really knowledgeable hockey insider once told me a team would never do that.

Again, a team telling their fans they planned on rebuilding due to it being the best move for the organization. They never do this(or do they?)!!! Or maybe the Rangers don’t want to sell tickets?!?!?

Darche will have to give them nothing to do if they cannot be fired just like what happened with Garth.

They can be fired. Just a question of whether the team wants to swallow whatever they are supposed to be paid.

I mean you can’t blame Lou. Chris has done such an incredible job.

How stuff like this is allowed to happen to the obvious detriment of the team drives me crazy. It also pokes holes in everything Lou supposedly stands for. It’s impossible for me to view nepotism as professionalism.

Wang did the same thing. This is the problem not firing Lou before he did this nonsense. Lou should have been gone before the trade deadline even if it meant Kenny taking over for a little while. This is the thanks the owners got letting Lou run the entire show and not embarrassing him by firing him. These signings are like the BS pardons Presidents give out.

Ses honestly saying the 7 year deals should be over is nonsense. If you could sign Dobson for 8 years at 5 million would you do it?
