Mike Sullivan out as Pens coach. Most likely the next Ranger coach.

A lot of Ranger fans in my office not thrilled.

I'm not crazy about Sullivan as a coach. I've even heard Torts could be a possibility for the Rangers. That would be nuts to me.

I can't make it make sense in my head that if games are on TNT, I can stream them on Max...but if they're on ESPN I can't stream them on ESPN+.

Hearing there have been a few changes on the Islanders’ support staff. An equipment manager, Leni DiCostanzo, and an assistant strength coach, Derrek Douglas, were let go. Massage therapist Jim Miccio is moving to Bridgeport.

The organization plans to fill all those positions.

I like Darche as GM with maybe Brisson as President.

I like Darche as well. My guess is that, if they do want a president of hockey ops, they go with someone with more experience like Holland/Bergevin/Kekalainen to oversee a first-timer GM.

As experienced as Brisson is around the league, I don't know if they'd put him in that role having never worked in a front office before. Not a knock on him either, I'm just guessing they don't want two new guys in first-time roles.

No question those 3 do have the experience. They need someone that will work well with a GM and let the GM do their job. He is 82 and works for the Wings, but Jimmy D coming home to be President would be nice. He has the experience part down pat and seems like he would play nice with a GM. Neil or Jimmy would be nostalgia hires with a mix of new with Darche.

Nobody in their 80's, please and thank you. Also nobody that's been out of the game in any meaningful capacity for 20 years.

I can understand this. I just hope the President is going to be supportive of the GM and not looking to cause issues. It's going to be tough waiting to find out the hires.

Could end up being a very interesting draft. If they have major interest in one of the AGM's from a team that makes it to the Cup final, it could run at late as long as June 23rd. Draft is June 27th. If that's the case then the scouting department is pretty much going to be on their own as far as deciding on who we draft.

I would imagine they don't let it go that long, but it'd be real tough to press a guy who is currently working with a team that is still in the playoffs. Lightning are likely going to be knocked out in the first round being down 3-1 in the series, so that (in all likelihood) frees up Darche at least.

I get caught up in the coming home angle and people tied to Bill and Al. I'll never make to June 23. Hopefully Tampa is out soon. I do not understand though. Should the AGM's not be available to talk during off days? I just want this offseason to be about re-making the roster. I doubt it will be a full teardown. I hope the team sticks to 1 or 2 year max UFA signings.

Frankly I don't understand what exactly most of these guys are doing during the playoffs that they can't talk. Maybe it's a respect thing? There is no salary cap in the playoffs, the players aren't getting paid, and nobody is trading or signing anyone.

Draft prep would be the only thing I can think of, but that has to have been going on most of the year...even if it's starting to ramp up more with the draft 2mo out. But it doesn't seem like interviewing with another team should be such a burdensome process that they can't take a day or two to travel out of state.

So is it the consensus in the organization that Bridgeport sucks because they weren't getting enough massages?

Must be that Chris L. was hogging all the masseuses for himself.
