He didn't look like a bottom-six player to me last night. Obviously massive grain of salt given it was a dev camp scrimmage but his assist on Finley's goal was very impressive.

We just spoke to Patrick Roy:
- He hasn’t talked yet to Duclair. Will meet with him in-person and apologize.
- Barzal will start at center, Drouin will start on Bo Horvat’s line
- Bennett will run PP, Boughner will run PK, Desrosiers will help with 5v5 and faceoffs

Not sure Roy needs to apologize to Duclair, but let's see how it all goes with a fresh start between the two.

It's unusual (but not unheard of) for a coach to call out a player that way. Some of these guys are more fragile than others, and a coach needs to know which players can "take it" and which can't, or else they risk damaging a guy's self-confidence. Duclair obviously couldn't take it, based on his request for a leave of absence.

Yeah I just added to my prior post. Maybe they are looking to move a forward?
I have zero problem with any player starting in the minors. I think it’s good for developement and makes them hungry. A good player will realize it’s part of the process. He could/should start in the AHL and be first call up. That’s obviously if he doesn’t win a spot outta camp.

Maybe Duclair was not fully recovered and maybe Patrick should have kept things in house. Duclair still should have handled things better, and he gets very little benefit of the doubt when he has bounced all over the NHL. Happy 4th everyone!
