Darche says Varlamov rehab still going well. But says you can never have enough goalies.

Ha, well I'll disagree with Darche on this one comment and say that you can, in fact, have enough goalies...too many, even...and we've seen it!

I agree with some other posts here that he's probably working on a deal...or that Varly's rehab isn't going quite as well as we're led to believe.

Yeah I guess we'll see. Still feel like Varly could be flipped to EDM or someone else that needs goaltending, if he's truly doing well in his rehab. Unless Rittich agreed to be the Bridgeport goaltender if Varly is healthy

I'll say this...Darche is doing a good job of putting a team together that could be competitive and maybe even get into the playoffs if they get hot at the right time, and he's doing it without sacrificing the future even a little bit. If anything, if the season takes a turn for the worse, he'll have a small pile of trade chips to sell at the deadline.

Well having goalie depth is great but unlike some other Islanders GM having 3 on the Islanders roster doesn’t make sense and I don’t think it ever does.

DiPietro's will he/won't he ever play again was a big part of the dreaded three-goalie rotation, but yeah, it's never good for any of the goalies regardless of the circumstances.

I gotta say I'm continually impressed by how the Rangers get every team they trade with to pay top dollar for mediocre players they're dying to get rid of.

That being said, good for Reilly. He was really very good for us and it's a shame the injury/health issue cost him the season. Good luck to him.

The Canes do seem to know defense, but it could be more system related with the Canes.
