Pretty sure Darche directly told both Barzal and Horvat that they weren't being traded - keaner17
Yeah I remember that. I guess anything can happen for the right offer. Kinda like my house isn’t for sale…..BUT, if you wanna over pay im gonna listen. |

previously reported that GM Mathieu Darche told Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat that they were not getting moved. I know VAN has wanted Barzal, the BC native, for forever.
Would be stunned if Barzal got traded...stunned. - Gabe Athaus
Yeah I don’t think it’s happening but Darche is gonna listen to any offer and the fact that we as fans are in the loop is exciting. What it says to me is the islanders, under Darche are open for business. No more loyal signings like Pierre nice guy Engvall.
Darche is loading up on prospects and I’m sure will add thru free agency…..it’s more of a rebuild than 19 years of snow and lou |

In Emil Heineman's young career, he has now been traded for Sam Bennett, Tyler Toffoli and Noah Dobson. The Islanders just acquired a world class trade chip.

Haha that’s crazy!!!! I just watched video of him (in Swedish). He’s got some size, speed and snarl to his game. That’s a good recipe. I truly believe a lot of isles prospects weren’t developed properly. Give me effort with some talent and good developing/coaching makes them great.
Heineman
Characterized by a high motor and versatility, Heineman maintains a strong two-way presence and can play both sides on the wing.
In sheltered minutes with Montreal, Heineman was a defensive piece for head coach Martin St. Louis and provided strong forechecking.
The PEOPLE'S rookie of the year, Emil Heineman, bats in his 10th of the year.

With Islanders’ head coach Patrick Roy, Heineman should click similarly and shore up New York’s forward depth.
The winger is a restricted free agent whose deal expired at the end of the 2024-25 season. |

I guessed that, but "My rottweiler on skates..." doesn't carry the same connotation.

Could Darche actually consider trading Barzal?? |

Interesting timeline for Dobson and the #Isles -- source said Lou Lamoriello offered him in a package for Mitch Marner before last season's deadline, now he's moved for futures.
New era on the Island and new GM Mathieu Darche clearly not done on this big night for the org. |

Smoke/fire for the last 24 hours. If they trade Barzal and this isn’t a rebuild, than wtf is a rebuild lol
Is Quinn Hughes a possible return? Could get interesting. |

Thankful that didn’t happen. I’m not big on Marner at all. I certainly wouldn’t have traded the isles best chip for a guy with no engine. |

That’s funny. I just landed in the main page of this thread as I had to maneuver with my phone back in here…and the Nelson trade details are what this thread started as. Was thinking can’t wait to see Ritchie as an Islander |

Its funny, having been through the lean years in the 90s and early 2000s, I've forgotten how exciting the trade deadline and draft day can be when your team kinda sucks
That said, we're sorta importers here by winning that lottery. |

Trade details:
To #CBJ:
C Charlie Coyle
LW Miles Wood
To #GoAvsGo:
CBJ 2025 3rd Round Pick
Cond. 2027 2nd Round Pick (CBJ or MIN)
F Gavin Brindley
Colorado clears $7.75 million off the cap moving both Coyle and Wood.
This is a bad trade for Columbus
Curiously enough, since COL moved Coyle and all that money....I wonder if they aren't after Pageau for their 3C |

Im really worried the Flyers are locked in on Hagens at 6. So Im not sure where that leaves us - keaner17
I heard from Hagens old coach that Nashville was in on him big after his fly outs.
That said you never know. |
