The Flyers development process.
Excluding the goalies what can anyone really expect from players with Torts at the NHL level and Ian at the AHL level leading the developmental process. - Striiker
Cates, Brink and Forester seem to be doing just fine.
York is a solidbd guy.
Rr has become a reliable d
So yeah the development process sucks

You do realize, they don't need to trade him and can hold onto him until draft or next deadline.

Fedotov had a great game, no doubt. However, his effort shows how poor the goaltending is overall and a major reason the team is mediocre at best. Don't get me wrong, there are significant roster issues. A contender will need goaltending with a .900 save % or more. The Flyers are no where close to that goal. Relying on goalie prospects who are at best a few years away makes little sense. The irony is ex Flyers goalies are littered around the league and doing well. Maybe there is a development problem for goalies in this organization. |

Now that's a possibility, I personally thought we need to revamp our goaltender coaches and trainers. |

Dillabaugh was a goaltending coach once before assuming that role with the Flyers. He was the goaltending coach of Kelowna. For an organization that preaches culture and accountability when does that standard extend to the coaches. He's been the goaltending coach for 10 years. Seems like an issue. Should we really believe Dilly is one of the best in the business? |

Not just about points. Schenn is a bonafide center, leader and has a history with Berube. Laughton is just good in the room.
Seriously, if you had your choice of Schenn or Laughton, who would it be? - meduser
Ugh..... Laughton is also a Center and leader and what does Berube have to do with anything. History doesnt justify the price. Schenn is older, slight better and has been declining for some time. Shcenn's Cap hit is almost double of laughton and has 3 more years
Who would I pick Schenn or Laughton? Id pick Laughton.
Laughton is younger
Laughton has a shorter term contract
Laughton is a smaller Cap hit
Laughton does not require paying more for retention
Lughton's Cost is Cheaper

Not to mention Sanheim has developed into a mid tier Top pair D,
York is doing well
TK is a Point per game guy
Drysdale has improved
Even Seeler's game improved since coming here
Michkov is doing well
Tippett is doing well

Laughton should just be a winger now, whereas Schenn is still a legit center winning at over 50% of his draws at center was more my point. I don't understand how Laughton, of all players, has become this mythical human at this point. He is just not very good. I will be shocked if either of him or Risto are moved this week. |

Yes but it’s more than that. I want his roster spot for a younger player to step into. I want his cap money so the flyers have more options this off season. And I want him gone because it’s a clear recognition this team needs to pick as high as possible in this draft class. Laughton will help the flyers win games and that is that last thing this team needs right now. - jd250
Yes it open up a roster spot, but make a younger guy earn it by outplaying. Don't just need to give it.
With Risto yes it opens up a spot on defense but then you put in Andrae so really not gonna get us a lot more loses.
Risto yes right now has value but next year when the cap goes up 7 mil and come deadline next year we all now it's going up another 8 million. Then all of a sudden risto contract becomes a gem 💎 in trading negotiations. So no real rush.
Same for Laughton
I personally would trade them this year if my terms are met or close 2 and if not I'll wait, patience is key |

except for the risks involved. This blip in his play ends and he reverts back to what he was, or he gets injured and is slow to get back back to where he was. Trade while the player is hot....grab the second and run. Same with Laughton.

1) Faceoffs is a small part of being Center, Some of the Best C suck at faceoffs. Stutzle for example is terrible at faceoffs. Hughes aint that great wither
2) He doesnt suck at faceoffs. Hes 49.6%. For Reference, Couturier is 52.4%. Schenn is 50.7%. Im sure teams are creaming their pants over that extra 1.1%
