Said the flyers way is a failure. Now give me a this is a new era.
Where have the flyers finished the last 3 years? How would you define it?

You are the one missing the point..... If Friedman says they are looking to move him this season does that would mean they are not discouraging teams from calling as they want to move him...... Both cant be true. They either want to move him or dont and the more reputable source says they do. They have also reportedly received calls on him already. Friedman already reported the Jets offer and there has been a Leafs offer out there for about a week now. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Your wife wants you to sell your mid life crisis sports car, but you do not want to, What do you do? You say ok honey its listed for sale and then you proceed to ask prospective buyers for the price you paid for it brand new. You will never sell the car but you can tell your wife you tried.
They are setting the price for The Room™ high to DISCOURAGE teams from asking about him.
it really isn't rocket surgery but you cannot see that due to your orange colored shades |

Why not set the bar high and come down if needed, you don't set the bar at what your willing to take thats bad sales tactics - SlNlSTER
Friedman states that the bar is set SO HIGH TO DISCOURAGE TEAMS FROM CALLING!!
why is this so hard to understand -- they do not want to move The Room™ but are making it look like they are -- Friedman also states in that article that the culture® is very important to danny boy |

is the team any closer to competing for a Cup?
What is the timetable to get there?
This team has been spinning in circles since about 2012 |

Thinking about it, the Caps would make sense for Laughton. They basically have this year and next with Ovechkin. They will probably add Leonard after his season is over. After the season Mangianpane, Eller, Dowd all come off the books so Laughton fits right into that bottom 6 role next year at a lesser amount.
So I could see the fit. Not sure what a return would be. I don't want anymore 2025 picks but I would take a 2026 1st rounder. Your not getting Leonard or Cristall but could you grab a Miroshnichenko or Lapierre?
For some reason I am pretty optimistic Laughton is going to be moved.

It is hard to do trades, the GM's only talk about trades at the TDL, the rest of the year they are in a cone of silence. |

What part of arguably are you struggling with?
Who has more trade value today between the two? Now I expect you to say JD does.
You say have no idea how JD will look. Yet seem to know how cutter will look. Sorry don’t see much improvement from JD at all. Negligible.
Cutter just turned 21. JD 23 in 6 weeks. - login
I think both players have about the same trade value right now. Both players are young and highly skilled, and both would be getting traded from their respective teams after only about a year with that team, which would raise a few flags. If you don't notice improvement with JD then you are either not watching the games, or you have no idea what you are watching. |

What a load oF BS! You have no idea what direction this management group is taking the Flyers, none of us do. Its only their second season at the helm and they had quite a mess to cleanup from the Fletcher and Hextall era's before them. You just presume its going to fail because that is what fits your pittiful narrative. |

Briere doesn't have to actively shop Laughton. Other teams realize the situation the Flyers are in and are without a doubt calling to determine Laughton's worth.
I'm all for keeping the ask for Laughton high at this point, some 11 days before the TD. If another team feels Scott would better their chances, and if an appropriate offer is made, I can't see Briere refusing.

This is the problem -- the triumvirate is not sure of the direction of the team
When did chuckles move become a mess? You stated that his moves put the team on a path to contention did you not? The fo has done nothing to improve this team or its chances of becoming a contender |

You this desperate to look for a reason to hate the team? If Friedman says the Flyers are looking to move him this season, I trust that source a lot more than the bleacher report...... - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I agree and if DB is not offered a 1st I still think Laughton is moved.

Briere has already said it will take massive overpay or something to that effect.
No team is going to do that. Briere has already refused what he said were fair offers. |

The direction is keeping their jobs. That requires selling tickets. I think they will move one or both Ristolainen and Laughton because that’s what the majority of paying fans want. They can’t just ride out the year into next season like they did the last one. There is no Michkov coming to sell tickets next season. They have to change something. |

I do have a good idea.
Stop with the excuses. They are doing nothing really different than the prior failed management teams. Of which the current GM was a part of.
This will be their 3rd deadline. There has been little to no improvement under the current coaching and management staff since they arrived.
Have to love the flyers apologist on this site. Wipe your chin. Weren't you a big huge Chuck supporter (on the way to the cup)? Until you weren't. 4 years from now you will be saying the same thing just insert Brieres name. |

They need more money for that. Cates, York and Foerster is going to eat most of the money they have for next year. Mid free agents are going to cost in 7-8 mil range this summer. |

I think they will waste the money somewhere else perhaps on defense. Chychrun or Ekblad. Need that size on defense. |
