I hope you are right. I love Risto's game right now and a lot of teams would benefit greatly by adding him. The Flyers should get a really nice return for him. - jd250

55-60 points was Frost Ceiling back when he was a prospect for us. That is no longer to be the case. He is a 40 point 3rd line C - xShoot4WarAmpsx
all possible, why I said Frost has untapped talent that he might never tap, but he is still before his prime, he will need to do enough to keep getting good minutes, playing with good players, that and a small step forward and he breaks 50.

Flyers never mentioned he got surgery. Nor did the player. Will anything come of this or swept under the rug so to speak if they settle.

The agent who the flyers will never work with again, regardless of how talented his client is, stated that when the flyers waived him he was scheduled for surgery

Yes just odd to me no one reported said surgery. From either side.
Hope he wins and makes the Flyers look like the incompetent organization they have become. |

Can the Flyers get a 1st for Laughton? I just don't see it. - MBFlyerfan
The room™ should garner more draft picks than Herschel Walker got the Dallas Cowboys. That is how valuable he is. Anything less is giving him away |

Thats 100% Bologna. When he got here he wanted to play for PHI. He claimed injury only when they tried to demote him. This situation had no affect on his ability to get surgery. He could have gotten the Surgery at any time except he waited for the season to be close to starting before scheduling it so he could get paid and not have to play in the AHL
Im not claining that there isnt some sort of injury but the facts are there. It is something he can and was willing to play through for a NHL spot and he has purposely using his injury as an excuse to avoid demotion and a buyout.

I think they can, dont know if they will. Its a question of what are other teams offering. A team can very much want Laughton enough that they offer a 1st but if the Jets have the best offer at a 2nd and move away and acquire someone else, that could hurt the return or increase it depending on how many teams are looking for a guy like Laughton and an alternative was taken off the board. How desperate do other teams get?
We've seen 1sts go for less at the TDL so its very much possible IMO

I see your bologna and raise you a Lebanon Bologna -- he was injured - flyer doctors confirmed -- also a team can not dictate if or when a player should get surgery
“He claimed to be injured when we traded for him, so we had him see the doctors,” Flyers general manager Danny Briere told Philly Hockey Now in a phone interview. “They found an injury, so now he’s going to be rehabbing. You can’t send down a player who’s injured, so he’s going to be doing rehab until… we don’t know when.

Verbeek to me looks like a weak GM. Took on Trouba full value when the Rangers desperately wanted him gone. Sent a pick and player to the Rangers. Got nothing back in return. Takes in Husso to help Detroit. Gets nothing back in return. Seems like poor decisions from the outside. Paying Husso for nohting is bad business. |

There is chatter about Laughton to the Caps for their 2026 1st round pick, but I don't see it either. The only thing that is in Laughton's favor is he is not a rental and is at a very good price next year, so that should up his trade value. |

The league gave the Flyers approval for terminating his contract since it is the NHL that is defending the termination. They wouldn’t have done it unless they thought they had a case they could win. Johansen’s the bad guy here. |

I did miss it, my bad. Still, just admit it, Risto is the Flyers' best defenseman! |

He looks pretty incompetent. Not sure I believe Briere is the guy to take advantage of him but the opportunity is there for someone. Rob Blake looks pretty stupid too. |

I am not disputing that -- poster stated ryjo wasn't injured and should have had surgery on the teams timetable not his own -- all of which is false |

Seems like there is more and more chatter of Laughton being moved online. Seravelli thinks WPG offered a 2nd rounder. I think you could see Laughton actually get a 1st rounder but would you take a 2nd and a prospect?
Hypothetically what if WPG offered 2026 2nd rounder and Brad Lambert? Would that be better then just a 1st rounder? |
