I usually don't give a poop about the Olympics, World Cup, etc.

But, I do like the idea of Brayden Point being paired up with Mitch Marner and Guentzel paired up with Matthews. I don't know if they'll actually get paired up, but it's the only way we'll ever see these two teams blended together.

For whatever reason they are consistently being used as a stocking horse.

All I see are reports of how desperate they are for someone to take their money. Vladdy and Bo are clearly unhappy and aren't looking to sign. I don't see why any agent would take them seriously.

Their recent "big get" is a guy who was turned down by TWO other teams for medical reasons. Jays were a last ditch effort to continue his career and not really on the cheap either. I believe the front office has a poor reputation around the league among agents, players and other GMs.

It was definitely not on the cheap but also quite a discount from what he was originally signing for. His 3 year/33 million is quite a bit off the 3/40 he agreed to with Baltimore.

The idea that the Jays had any chance at all at signing anybody significant is a special kind of hilarious.
