Very true. Waites has been great with shorter than average goalies. Perhaps they wait for Ivanovic? Here's my question to you totem: who's the best true scorer still available? I know the draft class is very short on true scorers but they're always a good bet on a lottery ticket pick.
- Assman22

No idea how they would translate but Lakovic and Ihs Wozniak have big PPG stats. Spence wasn't too bad either. Not sure who the best snipers are that are left.

Zonnon to PIT. He's an interesting guy, seemed like he was a late riser.

I lkie the draft this way.

There was so much time wasted when a name was called, the prospect came downstairs after trying to use the seat room to kiss the family, and then climbs down the satirs wades through the people allowed on the floor, icluding the kids who are mascots, moving cameramen and IT SIMPLY TOOK LONGER.

I prefer the anxiety relievd quicker.

two more then Hawks.

Wow if not a 'tender, then
Spence

We are getting another quality prospect.

You want a scorer?
Cullen Potter
Skipped his U-18 year with The USA-NDT to enroll and play at Arizona State. A forward with elite feet and currently playing first line centre there, but projects as a left wing. Displays terrific speed and commits to his role as a two way centre-wing. Possesses a sneaky strong shot, slick puck handling, and dynamite get-up that makes him dangerous all over the attack zone. Even before that happens, he is equally dangerous in transition and passing through the middle ice in a flash to get into the attack zone. He is not in anyway large, but this Wisconsin native handles the contact well.

You take the guy yoiu want so tyou do not lose out if you don't see a guy like him.

poop...I forgot that Malcolm Spence wasn't on that 7 list above and should be!

- wiz1901

Agreed but like the Kantserov pick two drafts ago, the GM could've had him in the 2nd round easily. Waddell has a lot of holes to fill in Columbus and that goalie isn't going to be ready for NHL anytime soon.
Also, Spence was on that list of 7 and hoping he isn't picked in the next two picks. I have LA going defenseman and not sure which way Ottawa is leaning.

A lot of holes in Lakovic's game and scored well in a weak WHL this season. How do you feel about Ryabkin as a lottery ticket given the lack of true scorers in this class?

Great the selection of Hensler leaves more of our needs, with only LA in front of us...

I have been pounding the table for Ravensbergen the whole year but with Knight coming in someone else probably needs him more. Lakovic is also a good option.

If KFC deals Commesso then I can see drafting another goaltender. If not, I can see them drafting one with the a 4th or 5th round pick

Not sure why but every time I watched Spence this year I thought he looked like a CHI guy. Maybe they will get a chance to take him now, 1 pick to go.

Why wait?
You have no clue where Commesso or the Czech fit in the future, so hedge you bet.

I like Ivankovic a LOT, but this early due toi size.

This is the year with so many good ones so take one early.

Wow, thru 23 picks Lackovic is still on the board. ...... Who's falling besides him? Can not listen to the farce mockery they made of this major 4 sport's draft.

Would be up for taking a chance on Ryabkin in round 2, especially if he is still there at #62.

Pens trading up has to be for Ravensbergen or defenseman, right? Please don't steal Spence from us!

Horcoff a nice pick
Son of Shawn is a big college winger who graduated from the USA-NDT. He may end up as a left winger in the bigs to utilize his size. He is currently at the University of Michigan, but was able to join his USA team in the World Junior Under-18s. He is a big man with heavy shot. He is very good on the cycle and holding off defenders away from the puck. He has a soild three zone game and keeps thing simple in the offensive end. His skating is good for a large human hockey player. He generates power that transfers to his checks and positioning. The NHL never turns away forecheckers of this ilk. His game may transfer better to the NHL after he continues to develop. This kid needs much more time growing into his game both physically and on-ice, but he is on the right trajectory.

True, but there is a bit of a glut of goalies right now. I think KFC will focus more on forwards and long term D men

The best tine for a prospect to peak is when their post season ends well. This lanky Czech import has got a feel for scoring, a long skating stride that takes him where ever he desires to be, and won’t be backing down anytime soon. He has the hands feet and skills that you see in smaller guys;displays terrific hockey sense, soft hands, and can be a deadly finisher in close. He uses his very large frame to protect pucks and succeed in in creating looks. Given his size and the long skating stride that comes with it, he’s not only a good transition wing from his defensive zone, he has a creative side as a playmaker and physical presence on the attack. He has good hands, processes quickly and creates space and has had success with his ability to thread quick passes in short areas for offensive looks. There is a terrific package of tools waiting to align for success. He is big enough to impede opposing plays, is strong on the forecheck and dominates physically when connect is made. If his first step keeps improving, and he continues to be comfortable as an east-west attacker, there is promise as a big scoring wing, who will, when he has gained power and more explosiveness with added strength, be quicker and more agile beast.
