Pope has one out this am, he's got Frondell and Spence as well, but possibly Vaclav Nestrasil.

From what my rookie eye saw i like Frondell a lot.

I think whoever they take, they'll get at worst a "good" player. Frondell and Desnoyers are both solid over the entire sheet and have different offensive upside (Frondell with the better shot, and from what I've seen and read Desnoyers is a bit better of a playmaker). Martone is slower, but has high IQ and great hands. Hagens does everything well except for being big.

And compete, i saw to much tape where he didn't try to get the puck back when it was taken from him.

I know someone here said he plans on being more competitive? No thanks

I believe if Frondell was healthy all season there would be a lot of debate between him and Misa as in who the best forward is in the draft.

I guess, but i also remember a certain number 88 many wanted to get rid of because of his antics as a young man.

Are the Ducks really happy getting next to nothing for him, i think not and Verbeek probably burned his bridge with him.

Zegras is overpaid and disappeared. Can't play defense, turtles in the dirty areas, and is a turnover machine. What did you think he was going to get for his bum ass?!

It's crazy to me that Bedard has more points than anyone on the Ducks. They have some nice players, they may have gained a top 6 player in Cutter but they lost one in Zegras.

I dont know what Q is going to do with this squad, i have to imagine he's going to be frustrated for a while.

How long before we have more young forwards performing at the NHL level before the Ducks. Love our young defense already in place.

In 5th grade KD was the goalie on SFG's kid's soccer team and let the winning goal in. Ever since then it's been hate KD.

They've got a ton of young talent at Forward (McTavish, Carlsson, Gauthier, Terry is 27), Defenseman (Lacombe, Mintyukov, Zellweger) and Goalie (Dostal) positions. They just added Kreider who can be a scoring monster if healthy, and Poehling is a good defensive forward (he's similar to Mikheyev).

The Ducks improved 21 points over the previous year. They have cap space to sign their guys and add more if they want, plus a bunch of draft picks. What about their situation makes you think they'll struggle?

Moving Zegras will likely help them since his offense wasn't coming near making up for his lack of defense.

It was nice they got 20 more points but i think they got some favorable bounces over the season.

They haven't increased their scoring with the moves they made so far, but we'll see, that's why they play the games.

It's "nice" they got 20 more points, and they were lucky...

Poehling and Zegras had virtually the same number of points last year and they added Kreider. So yeah, they did do something to increase scoring.

Oops, sorry KD is the best and all the other teams/GMs are stupid.

Can you all go to my mock draft to increase the traffic?
They used a version from 3 weeks ago and I am working to get in back to where I had it but I have the hawks first round and 33 there.

Just for fun the Blackhawks were 2-1 vs the mighty ducks

If we don't see improvement by the following season you'll hear me start complaining but for now no 8 year contracts to 30 year olds and keep accumulating kids and pics is a beautiful thing.

Wiz,you mention Frondell's powerful stride, and even call him a smooth skater, yet you say teams have reservations on his skating agility and that teams would have liked to see more explosiveness when skating.

I haven't even watched highligths of the kid, but is he an above average or great skater? Or just average?

It’s hyperbole for sure, but is it really that far off base? You’ve criticized any team that dares to trade a younger player for a piece they think they need to contend.

Interesting tidbits:

Brady Martin. He grew up and still lives on a farm in North west Ontario. He had a gym built in part of the barn so he can get his workout in … after he’s done his chores on the farm.

Caleb Desnoyers. When asked why a team should draft him his answer was “I win”. Can’t any more succinct then that. His father apparently grew three inches after he was 18 so there’s a chance he can get taller than his current 6’ 2”. And he played through wrist pain during the last part of the season explaining why he wasn’t taking faceoffs during the memorial cup despite having a 62% success rate.

I expect Frondell or Desnoyers to be a Blackhawk on Friday evening.

And San Jose beat the Hawks 2-1. It means literally nothing.

Oh, wait… I stand corrected. The Hawks split the season series vs Florida. I guess that means the Hawks are just as good as the champs. 🤦🏻. There’s nothing fun about bringing that up.

And in non-Hawk related news, Mogilny finally got in. I never really cared about Buffalo, but I always like watching him play. He was perpetually effective.

Seravalli has Kyrou listed in his trade targets not. He says it's nothing really related to his play, but more that they think Snuggerud can ultimately replace what he brings at a lower cost and age. STL is a middling and aging team, so this would presumably help in both regards and give them a bit more flexibility.

I'm sure they'd prefer not to trade him in the division, but might be a good move for both the Hawks and STL. Would KK and the 25th make sense?
