You can yell all you want from your soap box but he's not worth the 3rd OA pick.

Can't believe how little you value the 3rd OA pick

Was there a difference in value of the 3OA pick in the 2022 draft and the 2023 draft?

Just spitballing: how much would we have to overpay to pry McGroarty out of PIT?

Wasn't that line in the World Jrs. Frankie, Howard and McGroarty?

Cooley is pretty good
Fantili should be better though. The 3rd in the 2022 draft would have definitely gotten a smaller return than the 3rd in the heavy 2023 draft.

Seeing Korch at 7 in the draft is starting to make me worry. Listened to a few podcasts the last month, not sure if these guys are just playing captain hindsight, but they keep mentioning: I thought Korchinski was a reach at 7.

There were a lot of people saying that on draft day. I remember a ton of people saying that KK was a bit of a reach at 7 and Nazar was an absolute steal at 13. In the end it worked out.

I wouldn't discount KK. I know Elbows can't stand him, but he'll end up being a pretty good guy to push the puck up the ice eventually. I think it will certainly take him more time than Rinzel and Lev to get there, but he'll be a good player.

Nazar and Rinzel - right now, both look like they are going to hit. Not exactly superstars, but top 6 and top 4 - which is huge.
If they hit on Korchinski, that draft is going to be a big reason the Hocks are competitive again.

I wonder if Nazar and Vlasic will be psrt of the Olympic team. The US should have a really good team this year.

That whole naming the first 6 players is a bit odd to me, but it's interesting that Brady Tkachuk was named before Adam Fox. I think Nazar has a much better chance than Vlasic, but I'd say Vlasic can be one of the last additions to the squad. Looking at the 4 nations rosters, I think Frank has a good chance to unseat any of:
Trocheck
Brock Nelson
Chris Kreider
and possibly Dylan Larkin

Obviously health will play a role here as well.

On D, it's a tighter fit:
Brock Faber, Minnesota Wild
Adam Fox, New York Rangers*
Noah Hanifin, Vegas Golden Knights
Quinn Hughes, Vancouver Canucks*
Charlie McAvoy, Boston Bruins*
Jaccob Slavin, Carolina Hurricanes
Zach Werenski, Columbus Blue Jackets

if he gets back to playing a true shut down game, I think he could replace Hanifin (outside chance of Faber). The others are just too good.

Yeah, the D is pretty stacked.
I guess he could put on the team as an extra, can't remember how many players they are allowed to bring over to the Olympics (in case of injuries/illness etc..)

If Nazar starts the season the way he ended this last season he can easily make the team. He'll be a lower line player, but just his PK ability alone will be valuable to the USA squad.

I expected Fox,Connor,Jack Hughes and a few more over Brady Tkachuk. If he wasn't Keith's kid he wouldn't be named with the 1st six.
And not sure either why each nation had to name 6 players now.

No Frondell on Sweden's top 6...trade the pick!!

Craig Button's Final Top-10 Draft List released today:

1. Matthew Schaefer, D
2. Michael Misa, F
3. Anton Frondell, F
4. Porter Martone, F
5. Roger McQueen, F
6. Brady Martin, F
7. Caleb Desnoyers, F
8. James Hagens, F
9. Radim Mrtka, D
10. Victor Eklund, F

McQueen at 5 is a bit of a head-scratcher and he clearly is higher on Brady Martin than most.

I still think Frondell is the brass pick.

Brady Martin will be the biggest jumper in the draft.

Go watch his highlights, and watch how Florida plays. Its a copy cat league.

If it weren’t for the injury McQueen was expected to be in the top five mix. The back problem was no where near as bad as first thought. We’ve never discussed him because of his injury but is he a dark horse pick for KD?

Frank Seravalli: The Blackhawks' 3rd overall pick is in play; looking to trade for a difference-maker - DFO Rundown

Looks like Kyle isn't too high on any forward outside of Misa.
Robo is a difference maker if you ask me.
Peterka...is not. Good player, but not enough for #3.
I think someone mentioned Necas as well, not for #3. It would have to be Necas ++ for #3.

KFC has said for a while he is open to trading #3.

Wouldn't expect anything final until CHI is on the clock - got to be sure that Misa is already taken.

Just have the fax machine all gassed up and ready to go....

I've been going back and forth with Dots for weeks that they could/should move the #3OA for a high level active player. He's not a fan of the move. I find great joy and entertainment in the post by Seravalli.

EDIT: OK, "weeks" may be a stretch.

He’s a good player but not as good as a half dozen or so in front of him.

I'm not one of those. I want the best players and guys 5-10 or 11sh and 180+ lbs who can skate like the wind and score.......I'll take those guys all day long.

I've never seen Frondell play other than highlights, i saw Desnoyers play in Memorial cup and wasn't really impressed.

If i'm going just on highlights, I actually like Brady Martin the best.

I really hope it's for someone better and younger if they actually give up the 3rd OA pick.
- BetweenTheDots

I really don't want to give up the 3rd overall ,I would rather trade this years 2nd 1st and the later one next year ,and maybe throw in KK . If that brings in Jason Robertson
that would be great .Trading from a place of strength is always best
