Rico says it but i do agree with it, just call me a fan boy after watching his tape, he's got a great tool bag and a kid willing to play through men
- BetweenTheDots

For the Toronto pick I’d love to see KD try to do what he can to get Malcolm Spence. A big, fast, skilled, nasty winger who loves to get in the faces of opponents and can play a skill game. The best thing is he’s disciplined and knows when to be nasty and when to play.

Would you knock it off. We're trying to build a narrative so that we feel better about the Hawks taking Desnoyers.

That might be a decent pick too. It's so hard to tell with certainty who will be the optimal pick. I just don't think it will be a size issue with any of the very talented guys near the top.

I think back to the last time we picked 3rd, Kirby Dach wasn't a bad pick but definitely wouldn't be in the top 5 if the draft was done again today. #2 overall Kaapo Kakko wouldn't be either IMO. I'm going on a tangent, but looking back I think my top 5 would be ....

Hughes - Went #1
Boldy - Went #12
Seider - Went #6
Caufield - Went #15
Cozens - Went #7

Long term a guy like Dorofeyev might might crack my personal top 5 from that draft.

Not taking anything away from him, but did these guys all play the same number of games, and who else was on the team? Frondell's numbers are over 25 games. Desnoyers over 49 and like you said the competition is different.

Three kinds of lies (attributed to Benjamin Disraeli according to Mark Twain):

Lies
Damn lies
Statistics.

Frondell also played on the same line with Eklund most of the season

It's tough to gauge for sure. I mean, the top scoring Center on his team was Marcus Kruger. I know Fondell did well for his age, but I think the scouts need to do their work with him because he missed time and I think didn't make Sweden’s 2025 World Junior team.

According to this, I believe it says he did play for the WJ team.

I think many weren't exactly blown away by his performance there though.

If I'm picking one guy out of that list it is Boldy for sure. Hughes has a ton of skill for sure, and is well over 1 PPG after his first two years, but Boldy just does everything really well, and has been close to 1 PPG as well (not to mention at $1M less AAV).

Very true but at the same time he had 4 points in 7 playoff games for the Swiss team

I believe if he was healthy all year he would of been in the same conversation as Misa and Schaefer

Schaefer was hurt for three quarters of the season.

That guy would be a perfect fit on Bedard’s wing, however the odds are slim and none to pry him away from Minny. He’s big, he can skate and he can score, other than that he sucks.

I keep hearing (most recently from Friedman) that Jason Robertson's name is commonly mentioned as available. Just sayin'.

With Toronto’s pick I’m hoping for Spence or Blake Fiddler, a right shot defenseman that has size and can skate, you can never have enough of those.

If both firsts this year and Reichel would do it, I'll draw up the papers myself and pick up Robertson from the airport.

Right but he was excelling until he got hurt, Frondell wasn't even top 5 for some top 10 for others, slow start coming back from injury and all he did was get better and better and better in a men's league. I have to wonder how good he would of been if he didn't have the injury early in the season. And i could be completely wrong about this but i won't be disappointed if they call his name on June 27th.

So long as Schaefer and Misa aren’t available I’m thinking Frondell or Desnoyers but like you I’m leaning to Frondell.

My only concern is Roberson’s skating. He’s not very mobile, quick or fast. That’s an awful lot to give up for a guy who doesn’t really fit KD’s vision.

I really don't believe they are going to trade that 3rd OA pick. Toronto's 1st, 2nd maybe a prospect should be good enough. Gotta see if that cyst he had removed is going to continue to be an issue in his foot.

Yep. We have a lot of prospects, but we don't have "that many" high end prospects that it should be a concern about position. We've seen players at C also play W, in some cases guys who play W end up at C. Heck, we won the 2010 cup with a very deep team while having a D (Dustin Byfuglien) play W. The position is not important, take the most talented and highest upside player you can when you pick near the top of the draft.

Wasn't Sharp playing a lot of C that season, as well?

Sharp was 2C with Kane. Bufgylien hated playing wing because Q wanted him parked in front of the opposing net and he was getting beat up.

Servalli tweeted it too

Frank Seravalli: There is "smoke" to the Jason Robertson rumours - Daily Faceoff Live

Wonder what it would take to pry him away.
There might even be a bidding war for him.
Not sure if he has a no trade clause or something similar

Well it was fun while it lasted

Back to the draft..the hockey model guy that Blackhawks fans were making fun of on twitter/x for saying Nazar could be a bust according to his model has Frondell listed as the best player in this draft. Now it looks like some Hocks fans like his hockey model
