I didn’t say I didn’t want the Hawks to get Robertson, I just commented on why a good, young, big, productive forward is on the market. Although he puts up good numbers I’m not really that familiar with his overall game. For instance I didn’t know he was slow.
- paulr

I didn’t say you did, I just didn’t articulate it very well, it was about the wanting to inquire on why such players are available.
Edit - I didn’t know he was slow either, read that on X maybe, don’t remember.

Desnoyers is a good player who scouts believe is the best two way forward with the highest IQ in the draft. If KD and his staff believes he projects as a Toews, Bergeron, Kopitar, Barkov he will be Chicago’s choice.
- paulr

Paul I wanna use the commercialtime to go back to the 202o draft.
There was all this constantly arranging repeated by fan to fan about Anton Lundell.

Fans pass each other's discontent.
So Lundell lasts until pick #11

He was no Rossi, or Marco Rossi (available),Tim Stuetzle, LA.'s big boy Byfield, or the first kid Alexis Lafrenière. WE all love little Seth Jarvis, Dylan Holloway, or Lukas Reichel

He is holding a centre position, defensively take away the middle, dominating the face-offs, and his positioning after. Handles the physicality and is Cup Final hockeeasily handle the challenges of teh y smart.

So maybe it is a harder scout for Stan & Doughney+staff.is just about the attributes, and the guy with the most strengths now, and seems to eaily work up the "weak" areas where his game as a seasoned pro is an All Star.

A great game indeed. I’d like to see McDavid win a cup, and living in FL, I’m okay if the Panthers win as well. So no horse in this race, but love watching great hockey and probably leaning towards #97 to win one.

It was reported that Comcast has come to an agreement with CHSN. But, it will be in the upper tier of their programming, which means we will have to pay more to watch the boys.

It’s always. A concerted effort to add veteran talent when you trade so many veterans for future draft picks, but it did get them the most gifted player in that class, Conner Bedard.
The add Foligno to captain, bring in new cast for Bedsy sophomore season.
You know the vets had imput to GM Kyle, as did all the former players he is surround by.
So adding a CUP WINNER(s) like Perry was for the young “group” to learn.
Maybe that Perry didn’t have all the best examples for being a fit as Bedard’s exemplified example.

And as far as signing a true impact guy, you pick who you would want to see as the impact UFA, b/cI want one add like this too.
I don’t see it as the final piece to the SilverCup, and actually it should be for now.
This team needs to improve, jell, and start surprising.
They finally have a goal with some future.
And the other two should help next year too.
At only the COST of CAP & Seth Jones.
You guys didn’t see the stick-work, mobility, and physical collision-ability, and a decent ability when he has the puck in an offensive flurry.

I see this draft as real roster filler as the year’s fly. I don’t doubt they add a centre or try and acquire an impact pro.
But, that becomes a way to draft what the roster needs soon and draft him.

And the picks to 66 should be key to solidifying the future, even picking high skill defenders.

The question in my mind is will they take all three of these goalies:
All three of
a)right catching Ravensbergen,

b)Man Goos (now whether he flops, I need him on the team if I watching him play live.
c)And Jack Ivankovic - I think he grows from 5’ 11, and instead of trading any top 66 picks, I target him in his size drop.

Sure I want a centre at the 2nd pick if there is not a goalie there sufficiently fair to select there.
But my next 7 players (and the one before the #25 slot are basically centre who will probably never stay at the centre position:
Cole Reschny, who is under six ft.,
Shane Vansaghi,
Valcav Nestrasil (no his not quick enough to centre, heard that before.),
Billy Zonnon,
Jack Murtagh,
Chicago suburbs own,Ryker Lee,
Cullen Potter,
And develop big man, William Moore, who will be a bigger player WHEN ready, later Milton Gästrin
And big guy for sure are going soon two,
Jack Nesbit & Hayden Paupanekis.
And then you see
Cole McKinney,
William Horcoff, and then you decide if the dual sport kid has picked hockey, b/c that lifts in up a lot.

So, did the Hawks get their franchise centre with that first pick?

Well if they didn't the long term solution centre may come from here.

And their fall back is the wing position w/o big adjustments.

To me this is the strategy.

A couple more profiles:

Draft Prospect Profile:
JETT LAJOIE - RW
Height: 5-11
Weight: 178
DOB: 02-05-07 Age: 18

2024-25 Prince George WHL 67-14-21-35 (PO: 7-1-4-5) PPG: 0.52 PIM: 40
2025-26 Prince George WHL

Lajoie started out fast this year at Prince George, similar to how Terik Paraczak started in 2023-24. His scoring faded later in the year as earlier draftees like Paraczak, Ziemmer, and Heidt returned from NHL camps. Like many of the PG forwards he plays an attacking style and has decent size, similar to Paraczak, but not as skilled. Scored a little in the playoffs. Might drop through the draft this year, but should get a better chance to show out with the top players at PG moving up to AHL/NHL.

Central Scouting Final Ranking: 166 NA

Neutral Zone:

"Jett Lajoie is a right-shot right wing who plays a competitive, straight-line game for the Prince George Cougars in the WHL. At 6’0″, 180 pounds, Lajoie has slightly below average size for his position, and consistently contributed secondary offense this season with 14 goals and 35 points in 67 games, ranking sixth on a strong Prince George team where nearly all players ahead of him were NHL draft picks. Averaging 15:15 TOI per game, Lajoie was used in a limited special teams role (1:24 PP, 0:19 PK) but was trusted at even strength, finishing with a solid +7 rating."

TRAVIS HAYES - RW
Height: 5-10
Weight: 175
DOB: 03-09-07 Age: 18

2024-25 SOO OHL 65-21-30-51 (PO: 5-3-1-4) PPG: 0.78 PIM: 61
2025-26 SOO OHL

Hayes is the younger brother of CHI draft pick Gavin Hayes. Does not score as much as Gavin, who was over a point per game at the same age in Flint. Another smaller player but is physical as indicated by some PIM. Looks like maybe a bottom 6 energy guy - probably needs better scoring to make the NHL. Ranked in mid-to-late rounds, CHI could take him in round 4-6-7. Improved scoring from the 2023-24 season, so conceivably could make another jump next season.

Central Scouting Final Ranking: 119 (NA)
Wiz: 120

Elite Prospects: https://www.eliteprospect...layer/746864/travis-hayes

Neutral Zone:
https://neutralzone.com/n...reports/ohl-travis-hayes/
"Travis Hayes is a shoot-first right winger who brings speed, quick decision-making, and a motor that allows him to play an up-tempo, north-south game with flashes of creativity. In his draft season, he recorded 21 goals and 30 assists for 51 points in 65 games, ranking top-five on his team in every major offensive category while also finishing +8. Hayes averaged 17:23 TOI per game and contributed on both special teams. His blend of pace, shot quality, and defensive commitment gives him value as a reliable, pace-driving middle-six winger with abrasiveness and match-up upside if his offensive consistency improves."

Ravensbergen is a weird case in that he actually catches left, but when he was learning how to be a goalie, the only glove they had was a righty. The joke is that he is the only goalie that could wear a catcher on each hand.

I have to say that was a really good game last night. It's really impressive what team speed and toughness does to an opponent and how an opponent can play you differently.

I was surprised to see the Panthers not be as aggressive against the Oil as they were the Hurricanes. That turnover by 2 was terrible Skinner bailed his as out. When i saw the Panthers chasing on the PK i thought uh oh and sure enough Oilers win.

McDavid has put in a lot of hard work in his life to get to this stage and has put up the performance in the playoffs to make me feel like he deserves it. Over the last 4 seasons, GP70 G32 A91 P123 1.76 Points per game. He has 79 Even Strength points which is more than everyone (Except for Draisaitl) else's "Total Points" in that span.

Draisaitl in his own right been really good and easy to root for as Germany's greatest hockey player ever. Germany has had a few guys who had solid NHL careers, but he is their brightest star to date. (maybe Stutzle will someday challenge that, but probably not) I wouldn't be surprised if he was inspiring a whole new generation of German players who are watching him play right now.

I don't know if they will win, but certainly a couple guys who put in the work and are excellent during playoff hockey, so would be nice to see them get rewarded at least once wth a cup.

Panthers have been playing some great hockey, but man Edmonton didn't give them much to work with after the 2nd period.

I know Edmonton has improved their D personnel over the last couple seasons, but I think they've also benefited from their time with Paul Coffey over the last 19 months. As the game went on there were a lot of stretch passes to put the puck back into Florida's end and it was tough for the Panthers to get out and get back on the attack.

Mattias Ekholm returning to their lineup has helped Edmonton a lot. I know they are missing Hyman here, but Evander Kane was pretty effective throwing the body around.

Panthers are no pushovers and Bob is able to steal games at times too. This could be a long battle of a series. Probably more OT to come in this one. Things probably gonna get nasty before it's over.

Great game last night. You see elements of what KFC wants the Hawks to look like over the next couple seasons. High speed, elite skill that can play with pace, superior transition game. It is the best way to counter the more physical, highly structured game of a team like Florida.

KD has considered the physical element as well. Start with a big mobile defence who will hopefully be able to play in the heavy going. Boisvert, Vanacker, Dach, Savoie, Spellacy, Pridham bring hard nosed hockey along with skill. Nazar and Slaggert both show they’re willing to play in the tough going.

Speed is huge and Edmonton definitely has that in their favor in this match up. It does create some issues with coverage when the opposition is winning races to pucks.

I think the Hawks are looking like a team that will have more than enough speed in the next few years. They will need to focus on winning battles for pucks (speed helps but body position is huge), managing the puck, protecting the front of the net and strong breakouts.

I think Martone will be good NHL career with a high upside.
above-average is based on his off-puck movement. Despit all the finnese talk he can be real physical, throwing punishing hits or making the subtle contact plays to open space as he enters the boards. He has a lot of
special elements and looks like an elite prospect and potential top-two pick in 2025.

It's tough to project McQueen when his year wasn't healthy.
He can be a beast when he wants to score.
He IS a centre, and one who handles the puck better than most players in junior period. He needs better ability of reading, so his vison has got to be better and RIGHT NOW is not a better skater than Martone. He hits players to get pucks back. There is finesse, tempo, finesse, and his mobility and deception due to the best mitts around, and will need off-puck development but he is a beast.
They are gonna love him in Boston.

I really want the Hawks to take matone if Misa is gone. Frondell hagens and Desnoyers I would be ok with also but imo matone is at the top over them.
