IMO, I really don't think they will move this pick unless they get a very good deal. It might not make or break the team, but it's possible they land a very good high end player, something they don't have a ton of. We have a lot of prospects but mostly 2nd and 3rd line types until they prove otherwise. I don't think they will use it to get an established player, unless it's a younger high end established player.

What I mean is, they shouldn't use it to land a 2nd liner (established player) because this is a shot at landing a potential superstar or good 1st line player. We are in the rebuild so we had a few high end picks, but in the grand scheme for a team, top 3 picks don't come around that often. We might be drafting a game changing talent if the Hawks do their homework and nail down the best player.

In other words don’t give up the right to draft one of the Sedin’s to get Brian McCabe.

Touche ... although McCabe did play pretty good ... for the Leafs.

Select best available, if it’s Hagens then look for size and try to trade up to get Malcolm Spence and look for Billy Zonnon or Vaclav Nestrasil in the second round. I’ve read Nestrasil may be the meanest SOB in the draft.

I'm gonna be watching closely if big Dman Aicheson is still on the board at 13-14-15. I'd think some teams jockey to move up and if wonder if KD is one of them.

Lackovic too if he's there at 16-17. I do like NTDP centerman Murtagh. Might be there in rd 2 but maybe not. ... Might be a secondary contributor who plays the game the right way.

Yeah, I got rid of that guy. He was too wishy washy and couldn't keep a post under 1000 words. It's like he was publishing his thesis here.

The ability to make a point in a sentence or two is a very very underrated and valuable skill. In this blog rpete is the 8 time returning undisputed champion in that regard.

Dallas has the depth to mount a comeback but likely they are done. Honestly the Oilers looked like a team just going through the motions this year waiting for the post-season and now they are showing what kind of a handful they are. After last season they did the biggest thing they needed to do, which was ditch Cody Ceci. He is Dallas' problem now.

Yeah, I am not worried. Has as much chance of happening as Korbustsky still being with Hawks at 25

Something though I'm wondering about Denoyers. No doubt he's defensively strong yet he's not on their #1 PK. Not sure if he's on any PK......... Don't know if the PK guys are elite on Moncton but Caleb Desnoyers for sure is not on the #1 PK.

Odd that his coach 80 games in doesn't have him on the PK.

- Mr Ricochet

He is a baby on a veteran club, so there may be a coaches itemized choice to not use him there when he he needs him all over the opposition at even strength, but I do not think he is as fast as most of the guys in my top four.
That not to say he shadows whomever you tell him to.
Just don't expect him to rocket about in long carries or leaving the crowded battle areas close to opposing defenders in his contrails.
He has upside and no warts growing on him, bcause he plays the right way.

Kind of crazy they were held to only 17 total shots for the whole game and only 4 in the 3rd period.

Dallas shots by period were 7 - 6 - 4...they didn't get much done with their season on the line.

I heard on NBC 5 Chicago that Toews agent is preparing to field calls for his clients services. Jonny is coming back.

I love you guys, but you so make me laugh. Would love Johnnie Toews trying out here.

I am glad to see Seth Jones become yet another defender who was better than how he was reviewed.

Now too many here have a clear idea of just who they do not want to see in the Entry Draft's outcomes.

Why not take Roger McQueen, if:

a) Desnoyer's too average in his pins?

b),or, Hagens is too similar despite his highly advanced toolbox? (How many skilled small bodies can you win with in you scoring units?)

c ,or Martone isn't as good a skater you want your scoring power winger to be.

d)and Frondell scares you, despite he almost a 200 lb.er play in heavy traffic, is a generator and shooter, and handles both ends when in the pivot position?

Would / Can / Might could happen that you are not even a fan of taking Matthew Schaefer with the third selection in the first round?

Before you start screaming about the slew of unfinished Blackhawk rearguards, and how Kevin Korchinski (let's don't exclude Arty), as many of the others of our defensive depth and even local signed talent like Vlasic would start looking like trade commodities as the team starts targeting more young experienced forwards, because the additions of Sam Rinzel and Matt Schaefer look like your new top pair, and are the smoke settles, a deep backline corp behind them.

So buckle up, there are many ways thing go, not all close to solidified.
