What these charts tell me is speed alone does not make you a great (or even a good) hockey player.

Who’s advocating players with only speed?

It tells me two other things:

1) I had no idea that Jake McCabe was fast.
2) For a guy that is trying to build a team that plays fast, KD sure didn't sign many fast guys.

If they could only measure how fast a player's brain work on the ice, then you would have something.

For sure. Pat Maroon was measurably the slowest guy in the league last year and still found a way to be useful. TT was also on that slow list, and he went through stretches as the Hawks best player.

I know this is a fluff piece, but I'm all in on Nelson. If not maybe Pascal Vincent and Tocchett is #3 for me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sorenson ends up as the head coach.
- LAHawk

They haven't ruled him out.

Agree the Rangers are a mess. I'd rather go Boston than New York if I'm a coach.
- rpeters01

Boston and NYR are both a mess. I don't know why a coach would actually want to go to either, except for the money of course.

You know i think it's deceiving, i watch Sanderson for Ottawa he may skate fast forwards but seems really slow backwards.

Thanks for the info. Still like Tocchet , not sure he will come .Nelson looks like maybe he will be the candidate to beat . Baashill could be a dark horse .

See Hagel got his comeuppance ,if he got one for the hit on Barkov .This is sure to get Ekblad one . Or maybe not

I'm not saying it's a big thing, but with so many family/nepotism stories in sports, I don't think you can completely discount it. How often do people talk about the Hughes brothers wanting to play together, or any other sets of brothers (Staals, Sedins)?

I could see it happening, too. I hope he will prove himself as the full cast of prospects arrives, if that's the case.

We need Chunk to do the lottery dance on Monday night, since he’s mildly artistic. I’d do it but I have two left feet.
