I'll be curious to revisit this after Sid and Pettersson presumably sign extensions. I agree with the young guys potentially giving a boost in a year. I'm not sure how much cap space they will have cleared. Enough to add someone. But Pettersson will get a raise and DOC will either get one or be gone. There's just so much money still tied up long term. - Tojo.
I think Jarry will be moved at the deadline, Eller, Acciari, maybe Hayes, Beau, and the possible miracle of Graves and/or EK.
I think Eller and Acciari being traded will allow for the extensions for Sid and Pettersson. Jarry will almost certainly be moved if he has another decent season. I could even see Rakell moved. I agree though we do have a bunch tied up. I think he tries to be aggressive to get rid of some players this deadline (pending where we are). |

You're more optimistic than I am about how much money they can move out. But I hope you are right! If someone like Jarry or Rackell got hot and could be moved that would be ideal.

Every deadline there’s maybe like two guys with term that get moved. No way we’re gonna get both of those slots let alone sending out like five guys |

I mean he has had pretty good success as a GM at every level....constructed TO's best ever regular season rosters ...yes i know, no cups, (when was the last time the Isles won a cup, anyway?) but perhaps he may have if Shannahan wasn't actually the one pulling all the strings and blocking him from things he wanted to do. Rumour has it he wanted to trade one of the 10ish million dollar forwards to shore up the D and Shanny blocked him from doing so.

Stop it. He constructed? Reilly, Matthews etc were there already. He drafted none of them. Traded away a slew of picks and never got the goaltending or defense fixed. Malgrin for Marchment , Kadri trade ,number 1 picks for Foligno etc. Of course Shanny stopped him from making THE RUMORED trade that would have fixed everything. Again stop it |

Proof is in the standings points. He also GM'd an AHL championship and GM'd one of the, if not biggest, point turn arounds in OHL history.
You could make a similar argument for Rutherford's GM cups with the Pens...but that would be just dumb. Rutherford made some moves that made them better (and worse, much worse after the 2nd cup), traded away mountains of 1sts/draft capital but inherited most of the talent already there. |

Dubas’s big test will be firing Sullivan if the need to arises for the 700th time. Does he have the balls to do it? |

Sadly, I'm not sure Dubas even has the power to fire Sullivan. Ownership seems too in love with him. |

Canada is worse off than the USA They have a leader that is young and clueless
We have Biden who is just clueless Open the borders if Biden gets elected Wait till the rest of the world shows up at the southern border Maybe we can send them to Canada They are probably a sanctuary country |

Come on really , you said he constructed the leaf team that did so well with standings points. Didn’t know that was goal but anyway he inherited all the star players except JT . He couldn’t get a very talented team anywhere near the promise land and his signature move probably hurt their chances. Think the 11 mil a year in cap space would have been more impactful. And Rutherford made the trades that won the cups no doubt. They win nothing without Kessel . That is the sign of a successful gm in my book. Oh forgot about the OHL turn around, that does change Everything |

Let me get this straight in Toronto Dubas couldn’t make trades that would have fixed everything because the power of President Shanny stopped him and now he has that all powerful job but the owners are going to stop him from making everything right. WOW he would put together a Cup team easy if people would stop picking on him. |

Winning a cup is hard, not sure why winning a cup is the only measure that a GM is good.

I have no comment on Dubas in Toronto, so don't drag me into it. He hasn't won me over yet.
In Pittsburgh, the head coach has too much sway with ownership. I don't think it's stopping Dubas from making any player moves. I only said I don't think he can fire the coach unless the owners change their mind. |
