Igor $11+
Panarin $11.6
Zib $8.5
Fox $9.5
That’s almost half your cap on 4 players. On top of that, the 3 (Igor excluded obv) are north south guys, not built for the playoffs. Need to find a way to fix that. How? I don’t know. - nyrangers9479
You are saying fox isn’t a playoff guy? Wow don’t agree at all |

From Emily Kaplan's ESPN column:
ONE TEAM THAT could make big waves this offseason is the New York Rangers. I have been told they've had conversations with other teams on Kaapo Kakko. While New York was unwilling to part with the former No. 2 pick in the past, including this past traded deadline, it sounds like both sides would welcome a change of scenery now. He just signed a one-year deal for $2.4 million, which is cost certainty.
There are more stories bubbling about the Rangers, ranging from exploring a Jacob Trouba trade to a possible reunion with Patrick Kane. I heard GM Chris Drury met with Trouba, whose no-move clause becomes a 15-team no-trade list on July 1, recently to discuss his future. A trade is hardly guaranteed, but the team is exploring options.
I'm told that Drury is telling people around the league he's looking to clear cap space.
Ultimately I think the team would like to focus on acquiring younger players, but I do get the sense a lot is on the table right now. |

I’ve been worried about the Yzerplan for a while. He’s very overrated as a GM.
Walman theories are:
1. Injury concerns
2. Too much Fortnite
3. Part of a 3 way deal with SJ and NYR |

Perhaps Kakko, Zac Jones and 30OA for 11 OA and Walman 🤔 |

Panarins has 2 more seasons. His line at least contributed. Fox is a Norris trophy winner so he made his money.
Zib is a whole other story. |

3 makes sense if no return from SJ but NY would have to give Detroit something. If not, even with 1 or 2, Walkman had value in the open market. |

Not really, we need a RW so trading a RW would mean we need another RW. So thats 2 RW's in need and then a solid 3-4 defense man. Those 3 players coming in would need to average 3.5 per in salary. Thats tough. |

As much as the perception is he was brutal, he had 24 points in 20 playoff games in 2022 and 16 in 15 this year. granted, much was on the PP, but he still was able to be somewhat productive. Just not 5x5 |

Yeah the theory is SJ took Goodrow to get around his NTC. It’s why I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Holl for Trouba deal. |

Othmann has to be in the plans somewhere. That takes care of one spot at 925k I’m pretty sure |

I still have a feeling he’s gonna get packaged in a deal for a big time acquisition
If we clear enough cap space, including kakko, we should absolutely pursue Sprong as a 3rd line replacement. |

Idk about that still, othmann traded. There isn’t any reason to because they can get a good player without trading him. He’s still Drurys first draft pick. Which is like your first born child for a GM. I’d be stunned if they traded him |

I just don’t see a path for him to any playing time without injury. Kreider, Panarin, cuylle |

Someone is going to RW, either Cuylle or othmann. I think we worry about players be able to switch wings too much. It’s not as hard as it is on defense. Othmann was playing RW in Hartford as far as we know. At least a little bit of time he did
I could even see a left side like
Kreider
Panarin
Cuylle
Othmann
Othmann plays with whoever to ease him into the NHL. It would be fine imo to do that for a year. 9-10 mins a game. Lavy just has to play the bottom 6 more |

Yeah, we are most certainly speculating.
Nothing about the Chytil Saga of 2023-24 was typical. So to me, it is reasonable to surmise that he may not have been dealing with typical concussion issues. It was floated on here that it could have been vertigo that set him back after his collapse in the pre-practice skate. That would make a lot of sense with the way he roared back to life after the season.
I agree with those that say we just treat him like any other player until proven otherwise. - Tonybere

5v5 is most important, especially in a tight series. He beat up on Washington then disappeared halfway thru the Canes series. We wont win unless our first line produces.
He turtles against tougher opponents, he is showing it more and more every year. |
