Idk can’t we like specific players for our team without some guys with “nyr” in their handles giving us poop about it? Thought this was America - picklerick
Nothing wrong with liking players, I know I beat a dead horse with it |

Unfortunately, as a pro athelete, nothing is ever certain, regardless of family. The GM works for ownership and the overall success of the team. |

I think he’s referring to the part where Vince is saying this might not be sitting well with teammates |

I’ve been working on the train and will share a few tidbits in this thread heading into a big Monday…
- The Trouba situation has gotten messy. Makes sense for #NYR to move him and use cap space elsewhere, but you can also understand him not wanting to uproot his family.
- Fences will need to be mended if Trouba is back, but you have to wonder if all this makes him feel unwanted and he ultimately decides to go. Clock is ticking for #NYR, who need cap certainty ASAP as they weigh UFA decisions, especially with Guentzel & Kane likely off the table.
Part of reason he wanted to come to NY in first place was for his wife’s medical career and now they have 6-month-old. Can’t blame him for wanting to stay put, and I don’t think the way he and Goodrow have been handled this offseason is sitting well with some teammates.

then he said this, and i gagged a bit b/c of toffoli
Steven Stamkos is a guy many have their eye on and I do believe #NYR have interest. Bertuzzi, Marchessault and Toffoli also make some sense, otherwise they could go cheaper at RW and put more focus on C and D. Depth at both positions is a legit concern. Lots of intrigue!

He isn't wrong, especially the Goodrow piece. Drury gave some notice to Trouba but may not have been clear that this was the plan and the news breaking of a possible deal with Detroit was unsettling to him.
I would be on board with Arvidsson depending on what else is done. Solid 5x5 metrics, not a great scorer, but you would hope that his 7% shooting percentage the past two seasons would improve a bit.

Going to try and get a blog up. Dealing with a bit of a family issue right now, which has not allowed me to sit in front of a computer or on my phone to type. |

Tyler Bertuzzi won’t be returning to the Maple Leafs. His value has out priced Toronto. He will land a deal elsewhere in the 4 year and over $5 mil per territory.
