After reading recent blog for Seattle about Laine, Konecny would be a great fit for Seattle.
Not sure what the return would be, definitely not #8, but would they part with 2025 1st or Wright, maybe Goyette or Firkus? |

Actual quote from the GM about how Lappy earned the extension:
"Development is critical, where we're at. Lappy's been part of this organization, understands this organization, he understands what our fans want and need. You know, and he's been one of those guys, he was I think he was a seventh round pick... he might get mad at me if he was lower than that. But ah, you know he had to fight for everything, he earned everything throughout his career. To have a guy like that, he can walk into a room as a coach and look at someone and say, you know what, that next shot - you better get on your knees and stop it with your face, cause he's done it."

Anyone else annoyed by all this down time for the Final? Like a week between conference Finals and the Final. Now 2 whole off days between games. This sucks. - mikeyo27
It's an 8-hour flight between the two cities. So basically half a day just for travel. Then they gotta load/unload all the equipment, bring it to and from the arena. There's no way they can do a faster turnaround. |

Either a puck to the face or punches to the face by Ross Johnston are the surest ways to earn a spot on this team.

Yeah - they probably don't win the Cup in '94 if their trade had gone through. That's the ironic part of the whole thing - we trade Forsberg to QUE/COL, enabling them to win the Cup, and we block NYR from gutting their team, and so they win it as well.
The Flyers did get to the semis once the finals once with Lindros (not counting 2000 because they won most of the games they did with 88 out injured), but to not win when the other two teams involved did is pretty bitter tasting. - copelal
They still win the cup in my opinion. The return from NYR was Sergei Nemchinov, Tony Amonte, Alexei Kovalev, James Patrick, and John Vanbiesbrouck. Only Kovalev and Nemchinov were on the â94 cup team and Lindros was better than all of them combined. |

If theyâre getting a future #1D at 7 anything thatâs been rumored would be a steal in the long run. I donât understand the hesitation to trading TK, Farabee, Laughton, etc. these guys havenât changed the direction of the Flyers so why are we treating them like theyâre some sacred piece to a future cup run? - Schmojo
Agree with you. All I meant is I'm not enamored with getting Chychrun or Pinto in return. Chychrun is a really good D man, but is injury prone. Although his contract is affordable in 24-25, he will be in the last year of it and would be looking for more cash and term in his next deal. It really gives me pause to be entertaining paying 5 or 6 to yet another injury prone defenseman. And Pinto has not set the world on fire. He's been sent down, suspended and his deal expires soon too. These options are just too expensive for what we'd be getting. I should have qualified my comment as "there isn't anything I like from Ottawa's roster".

Focus on enjoying the Phillies for now and hopefully the Eagles are good again and that holds us through February. Only thing I can suggest. If you lack hockey, get acces to college hockey and just watch the games without rooting interest. Iâve been to the Frozen Four a couple times and itâs a lot of fun. |

Kovalev was fantastic in the 94 run. Amonte was traded for Noonan and Matteau. Weight was traded for Tikkanen. Those four guys accounted for 5GWG in that run.
As good as #88 was he wasn't gonna have that kind of impact on his own. |

Ah ok, well yeah Iâm with you then. Chychrun doesnât excite me and actually worries me because it would indicate for sure the ârebuildâ is all just PR, and theyâre just doing another âretoolâ but calling it a rebuild. Pinto, Iâm fine with acquiring but yes, itâs not exciting. |

I think you forget how good he was right away. â94 would have been his second season for them. For the Flyers he put up 44G and 97P in just 65 games. They would have had time to fill those other spots between getting him and the â94 deadline. |

No, apparently, according to some folks here, TK has no value. You should look for often injured players with one leg and an eye patch for a fair return. |

Fill those other spots with who? Lesser players? Quality depth was one of the keys to their run. Trading 6-10 assets for one player leaves you with far fewer options.
And as the Flyers know you can't ever really depend on #88 to be healthy, happy or on his A-game when you need him the most. |

I was hopeful that Father Time would eventually cure the mental illness prevalent in this organization. I naively thought that once the alumni start keeling over another group would come in with a fresh perspective.
After reading that quote I am wrong. The infection has spread to the next and it is critical for the Flyers to extract the fetid tumor that is the alumni away from this team as fast as possible by any means possible.

Then again TK is not a goaltender and the price I'm hearing for 30 year old Ullmark may put TK out of range for other teams.

A lot of you, based on your trade proposals, are going to disappointed next week.
There is little to zero chance that the Sens are moving the 7th pick to the Flyers in any package that doesnât include the 12th pick going to Ottawa.
If the Flyers are gonna make a deal with anyone to move up and/or grab another first, I would look to Buffalo who is desperate to make the playoffs in 2025. Packaging Farabee or Laughton with the Panthers pick might get them 11OA. - BiggE
When did you become such an a-hole. I thought you were cool.
BTW: since when has a third line player helped a team move up 32-11= 21 spots? |

one of the worst run organizations in all of sports. that quote danny boy made is right on point for the flyers. |
