I have a question for everyone. If we were able to land Jonathan Huberdeau, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Patrik Laine at retained cap hits. While ridding us of Reilly Smith and Ryan Graves this offseason and still having cap space to sign free agents and not giving up our top prospect Yager or a 1st. Would you make the trades?

Yes. Those 3 would upgrade the team.

Yeah, have to think the Oil are going to give all they have and toss a pile of rubber at Bob. There's no way they're winning 4 in a row, or even taking this to 7. So, I would just prefer this all be over tonight hahaha |

Yeah that’s my thought process. The Oilers are going to pile on chances. Even if Bob has a bad game I feel like he should pass 25.5 easy. I’m thinking mid to high 30s shots on goal by the oilers at home |

Yes. It's already over. Just finish it off and let the deals start rolling. I need something more interesting (NHL wise) than coaches getting recycled.

Yeah if Bob were just slightly less bad and had a normal bad game rather than poopting himself and getting chased, I’d be swimming…
Need the Cats to only lose by four and hopefully Barkov to register a point to make up some of my losses |

I thought the Oilers would fight hard this game but man what a melt down by the Cats. If there’s anything that could spark a huge momentum swing and a reverse sweep, it’s that. |

I think the cats just want Edmonton to have that long ass flight after their loss. |

Pittsburg needs too much to stay competitive. My prediction is the Pens sign Victor Olaffson from the Buffalo Sabres.
He gives you a sniper on the cheap so Pittsburg can afford to fill some holes.
He’ll be the next one to bash the Sabres on crappy coaching.
I expect Vicky rebounds once he picks up his defensive game. |

Isn’t he pretty old? Doubt he’ll all of a sudden become a 200 ft player |

Does anyone know how much Jake is going to actually get on the open market? Like it's gotta be some combination of:
1. team with cap space
2. but doesn't have to sign a large number of players
3. relatively consistent contender who can contend now
Seems like difficult math. With Laine at $8.7 million, what's Crosby going to think if Jake lands at $10 million flat somewhere else for long term? |

The cap went up significantly and Jake is arguably the top UFA on the market. At 29, teams may think the first 4-5 years will still be in his prime. So circumstances are right for someone to offer a stupid deal if that's what he wants. |

Free agency is so unpredictable I would neither be shocked if he got a 5 year 8 mil deal nor a full max contract |

Olofsson is like 27/28yo. He's at his peak age. He'd be a goos get for a 2nd/3rd line role.

He’s going to be 29 before the season starts. He’s passed the peak age. He’s only a good add if he can play a sheltered bottom 6 role and get some pp time. |

Yep, 3rd line role is fine for him. We need bodies. |

Jake is going to get paid. No doubt about it.
Laine is only interesting if CBJ is willing to retain a lot or take Graves. If so, then he could be great on the PP, though not sure where he'd fit in the forward lines.
How is it only Game 5 it's June 17? |

At this point Laine would be 2RW or 3RW and 1PP. Probably 3RW to start.
