was this reported previously? what was the injury?
"He wanted to play games," Briere said. "He's had a lot of injuries to deal with the last few years so he wanted to play, so I give him a lot of credit. He showed a lot of character, leadership, the way he handled it.
pure negligence to not shut him down. such short sightedness and all about the playoffs. no long term plan at all - hello it's me 2050
Also, what’s the optics of trading your 5th overall pick for an injured player. I really don’t get this franchise and its caveman mentality to injuries. |

another case where it seems danny boy may have not done his due diligence. did the coach/gm and the assistant gm even discuss what the plan would be if they acquire ryjo?
what they should have done is put him in the lineup right away then go from there. another situation seems they bungled. - hello it's me 2050
Except RJ played every game with Colorado hoping to coast his way to a cup. Gets traded, magically gets injured. Thats DBs fault? I wouldn’t put it past RJ, he seems like a POS and, from all reports, he is |

maybe it's me but he laughton leadership stuff is way over blown. he has next to no playoff experience. what has he lead?
Now he has value no doubt.
buff should have been a playoff team long ago. goaltending killed them for a while. bad coaching choices. probably bad gm choices. - hello it's me 2050
Buffalo also mishandled the Eichel injury.
I’ll add on the leadership/experience point, anyone else see the Knoblauch quote about the Buffalo Bills?
"You can ask the Buffalo Bills how important Super Bowl experience is." |

Assets acquired will be used to fit the "culture", of course. 😀 I do believe there will be significant roster turnover between now and next summer. How much is certainly debatable. Since Briere was hired as the GM players moved- JVR, Hayes, Provy, Hart, DeAngelo, Gauthier, Walker, and Staal. No argument from me that most were easy decisions or out of Briere's control. My basic point is roster turnover has been happening and with player contracts on the roster certainly more movement will happen- Atkinson, Johansen, and Petersen. No doubt easy decisions, but what happens after those contracts fall off-who knows. I have been very clear I would not re sign TK. If they don't trade Laughton it would be malpractice. However, this mythical "culture" is obviously influencing their decision process. Roster change is happening, not to the extent that I wish for in the name of "culture". My basic question is how many dudes do you need to maintain the "culture"? By contract alone, Sanheim, Seeler, and Couts will be here a long time. How many more then 2 established vets are needed to maintain the "culture"? I have no idea, and that is why I am personally frustrated by the current path. - Trox88
Draft elite players and they’ll bring/change the culture. Talk of culture change is a mask for not being able to make the team better. |

I read he wanted to make it work flyers told him no they will try to trade him. then obviously waived him asap.
well, that won't happen as torts makes the nhl level decisions. a smart team would have played him for that purpose. then if he was hurt then so be it. - hello it's me 2050
Yep, they told him they were trying to trade him but there were no takers. Then they decide to send him to LV and all of a sudden he claims to be injured. |

ryjo should have been added to the roster and inserted into the lineup. doesn't get any more simpler than that?
why hasnt danny boy tried to get more compensation from the avs or file a grievance for damaged goods? seems odd not to no?
ca you share a link to those reports? |

So if they re sign TK ( which I am not in favor of), trade Laughton, Frost, Risto, and Hathaway before next summer would that be considered part of a rebuild? Granted, I have no idea if all these players will be traded. I don't agree with the premise of protecting "culture" thru a rebuild, but this appears to me what is happening. - Trox88
No, Trading TK and Sanheim are what would indicate a rebuild to me. |

How about Leafs C/LW prospect Easton Cowan as a possible trade target? He’s apparently Denver Barkey’s PK linemate and they are ranked the best PK in the OHL.

Teams normally keep budding young stars, don't they?
