what is silly thinking?
- where the flyers currently are at they should be acquiring as many assets as possible. do you disagree?
- players who have value like GH should be moved. if you want to then bring in another GH "type" then you do that on a 1 year deal then hopefully move said player at the deadline. this is how you build your system. this is a simple strategy.
- comparing what a cup contending roster looks like and the current flyers on is irrevelevent. - hello it's me 2050
Also by my count Flyers have 7 going on 8 GH types on the roster. Far too many, even for the Flyers.

Convince me that the Flyers shouldn’t explore a trade for 23 year old C, Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Scary contract. Huge risk/reward. Role the dice? - coffee junkie
He was playing 4th line RW for most of the series with the NYR.

Playing quite badly too... so many careless turnovers. No idea what's up with that kid.

A prevailing rumor is that Carolina may buy him out. If they do that, JK could be a cheap reclamation project with a “prove it” contract for 1 or 2 years. If they buy him out, he’d be a low risk high reward gamble. |

No brainer for me if he’s bought out. But, would you think about that 8x4.82 M contract? What if it included trading Coots the other way? And/or Risto. |

You're the one that suggested GH for a 3rd rounder, not me. THAT is silly thinking without question given the reasons I cited. 3rd rounders are dime a dozen throwaways or AHL players at best unless a massive amount of luck is found. Definitely NOT worth doing in any GM's book. Stacking up on long shots is NOT the way you build a team. Keep the good players you have, use your first rounder picks wisely for top end talent, and trade your later round picks to teams that need any picks and because of that overvalue them in exchange for proven NHL talent that fits into the team mix well given the current makeup of the team at that time.

- what future does GH have on the flyers? you can use the 3rd rd pick in several diff ways. yep silly thinking.
- so now trading GH is not worth it in any GM's book. this line of thinking is part of the reason why the flyers stink and will continue to stink under the 3 stooges regime.
- so you want to keep the good players they have. yep sign TK for 8 more years. keep laughton. great plan.
- what proven nhl talent will late rd picks get you in a trade?
- collecting assets is a way you build a team. A big part of it. |

Aside from Eric Lindros, didn't Stevens also concuss Damond Langkow and Martin Brodeur high stick John Leclair in the face in the 2000 playoffs? We were leading that series 3-1, still hurts. - cheesesteak37

Short article on Dallas drafting Wyatt Johnston.
https://www.nhl.com/news/...ohnston-in-2021-nhl-draft - Schmojo
“The coaches put him in a position to succeed,” McDonnell said. “That’s No. 1. They could see the hockey sense and the two-way attributes that he had and gave him every opportunity to succeed, and he did. So, you give the kid all the credit in the world.”
Uh huh. |

Yeah but he will have others who look at him the same way. Why chose the Flyers |

No they shouldn't. Score is what the score is. Goaltending matters. Florida got some lucky bounces for goals and help by the refs |

If Waddell ends up in CLB, apparently he will get full control. Curious to see which Jarko draftees he might use to make roster changes. |
