Will really suck if Van pulls this out. Dallas/Oil is a way better matchup. |

So.... More blood clots in a young athlete. Hmmm. So strange. Wonder why that keeps happening? - madmike71
Blood clots have been fairly common the NHL as far back as I can remember. Presumably blocking shots and other things that result in severe bruising increase the risk. |

This was about people who are sh!t on that are useful. Why are you posting this year's 5 on 5 stats when Laff hasn't been a Penguin for over 4 years and when he was he was pretty useless? I mean, he was fast...and laid a few big hits in his time with the Pens...his first two seasons with Pens (30 games and 54 games) he had 6 goals (none in 2nd season), 19 points in total for the two seasons...1st season he was xGF% 46.37, HDCF% 45.38 and CF% 46.45...in his 2nd season he was xGF% 43.49, HDCF% 40.85 and CF% 44.16.
In his only 10 games with Pens in 3rd season his underlying numbers were pretty good with 2 apples in 10 games but when he went to the Blackhawks all those number plummeted for the next 46 games he played that season.
He wasnt good. It was warranted for him being sh!t on. He was buried in his own zone a lot and barely produced. |

Because guys poop on him when I always said he was pretty useful. He would at least take a run at a guy. He could always skate faster than everyone. He went out and hit a lot so of course Sullivan poop canned him. |

He was not good for the Pens when on the ice. I know in his second season with BHawks, little stint with Leafs and now Nucks he's produced a bit better but he's still a bit of a detriment to 5 on 5 hockey haha.

I know Connor Garland's name gets bounced around here often and I also now there's certain people around here that sh!t on small fast skilled fowards but if you watched all the games of this past series you'd see he's like a little pit bull. What a battler he is. He was the Nucks best forward to my eyes. I would take him on the Pens in a heartbeat. |

This is actually a decent example. He’s a solid 4th liner/13th forward that can kill penalties. |

Don’t think he’s good but I wouldn’t read into on ice stats when he was on a team actively tanking. More often than not he at least is on ice for an even share of GF vs GA and really that’s not terrible for a 4th liner that can kill penalties. Doesn’t mean he was a proper fit in PIT either. |

He's a good PKer....but according to some around here anyone can kill penalties....however, whenever he was put on the top line with the Nucks this season the actual studs' (ie Pettersen) numbers on the line would suffer. Also, those Penguins teams were not tanking.
EDIT: I just think we shouldnt talk about current day Laff in regards to this convo of sh!tting on Pens who didnt deserve it....when it was 4 years ago. He has improved marginally in ways but he wasnt very good with the Pens at all haha. |

I know, but I didnt just refer to his time with Blackhawks in my post. Either way, I've spent way to much time and energy on 4th liner Sam f'n Lafferty today hahaha

I'm going for McDavid to hoist now...and to a slighter lesser extent Pavelski (and Benn)....Don't really mind the Cats, either, and like how they play...so basically, fvck the Rangers hahaha |

I’m rooting for Rempe to catch Mcdavid with a slightly late hit in the finals. |

Lafferty showed potential here. He always had the tools to succeed. But he tended to disappear for long stretches. Some times it just takes a few years to put everything together and he has, at least to be a productive fourth liner. But he wasn't here and guess they lost patience (especially if it was GMJR lol but don't remember). |
