I agree about not undervaluing him. Let's be honest though, NONE of the Leafs core has performed well in the playoffs and it is more than just one year. - Aetherial
Ya but when a player doesn't score a bajillion goals in the playoffs, you gotta immediately and irrationally trade him because Toronto reasons.
It's exactly why McDavid and his lousy 2 playoff goals will be traded to Toronto for a conditional 7th round lottery ticket to win a used wrapper of Sky Flakes crackers.

Regarding Saros
He is one of the smaller goalies in the league, who relies on athleticism to make saves
As he enters his 30’s, he could regress at a faster rate than most due to this fact
No to Markstrom
No to Binnington (even though Woll is from STL)
Remember when we could’ve bought low on Demko 🙄
So many buzzards said he sucked
What a joke
I say a Wedgewood, Jones or Brossoit as a backup to Joey Wollnuts is a logical choice
Can always upgrade during the year

The lizard people are just a front for a band of gnomes living under the city of Zurich. And they've been running things since Charlemagne's time.

Marner for Carter Hart - jmatchett383
Just him or the other 4 guys aslo? Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, Dillon Dube and Alex Formenton?
Might as well also sign DeAngelo |

How can you use these 2 words, when it's been pretty much the same thing for 7 years?
While some want him off the team because they don't like his dad, I think most just realize you can end up with a way better playoff team with the right trade.
You don't need to win the trade outright either, when you can turn around and use his cap hit on the likes of Tanev/Zadorov/Pesce. Go for A level prospects.
We've had the sort of D that isn't going to be fixed by adding around the edges for years now. They need to spend big on it. With existing space, you'd probably be able to fit two of the above (or whoever) and add a forward.
With the right futures coming back in a trade you can set up a trickle of guys coming up on entry level deals as well, something else we've needed for years.
It's all up to Marner anyway. We can always wait until next year when JT is off the books, but what UFA defenders are going to be around next year?
And besides, I don't like his dad either.

He also relies on positioning and IQ to cover for his size.
If he was pure athleticism at 5’11” he would not be in the NHL. |

Clearly an unpopular opinion round here - but I’m a Markstrom fan.
He was in a weird situation in Calgary over last 3 or so seasons where most of their players were up/down as was the organization with their drama at the time with players wanting out (cause I mean it’s living in Calgary). Then the team went to poop.
I think he’s a legit NHL starter that I would jump at….i do like Saros as well. Binnington would go gong show here |

Given the Leafs current situation, bring back Jones, run Woll as the #1, and spend most of your cap on shoring up the D. |

Woll is an AHL goalie to me. A broken one at that. He went in net in relief and played good in a super small sample size - and there were a couple patches he was not good at all. Especially down stretch. Just too old to not be a bit more proven |

He was a top 10 (even top 5 at one point) goalie in both GAA and SV% before he got injured. If there is a criticism of Woll, it's that he can't seem to stay healthy.

the Leafs would require a 3rd goalie and 4th goalie nhl caliber ish.
Woll would be on the IR by the end of Movember. |
