It’s incredibly simple. This team isn’t built properly aroind their two start players, Auston and Mitch. It just isn’t. Domi and Bert is a good start, but they need a lot more of that. They haven’t drafted well, with the exception of Knies.

This is 100% on Shanahan. And since they didn’t sack his ass, it’s now on ownership. And since there’s no single owner we can point at, it is what it is and this team will never do what needs to be done.

Just sell jerseys, charge $300 for nosebleeds, and keep shafting the people.

Be very curious to see how this all plays itself out. New coach, likely have to think new bench staff at that too. Then roster changes and shake up.

For me at least one of Marner/JT plus Rielly need to move.

Only thing thats been tossed out that I like is marner to Nashville for Saros.

All the teenaged girls chose Willy (obvs) and most of the guys who’ve been a Leafs fans all their lives growing up watching the team leaned towards Mitch. Because like you said, we haven’t had a player like him in a long time.

Then the contract negotiations happened, and the media turned on Mitch because he got a lot more money than Willy. So the Nylanderthals started a whole anti-Mitch campaign, blaming his father and trying to bully him out of town. Even someone attacked his family on here today. Saying something about Bonnie and Mitch’s wife.

They’re deranged.

Imo they should keep them both. Pay Mitch 12.5 x 8.

Trade JT, Rielly, and move out every non important depth player. Bring in new coaching staff.

Which is what I suspect will happen.

But for the moment, it’s full on 1930’s Germany in here, and Mitch has menorah on his mantle.

I don't recall the Leafs having a player like Marner in a long time - regular season superstar and then playoff.....well insert words here.

It may be perceived as hate (bullying as one likes to call it) but it's not really that IMO.

It's intense frustration with a player who shines in the regular season and shrinks like a violet when the playoffs come and just doesn't play anywhere near the game he (is paid to) and has shown he can (in the regular season) come playoffs.

Sure he has lost of points in the playoffs - playing mostly with AM.

Mitch needs AM to succeed.
AM has proven he does not need Mitch to succeed.

What doesn't help and/or makes it look more like hate?

The fact one person is here multiple times per day putting Marner on a pedestal while insistent another Leaf player is horrific completely ignoring any negatives or flaws in Marners game creates the unnecessary debate. It's always everyone else's fault that Marner didn't have success and never his own. This occurring while simultaneously trashing another Leaf player (Willy) is what builds up the animosity and creates the unnecessary and downright silly Willy vs Marner debate.

I think there are few if any people here who hate Marner (I don't at all) BUT he frustrates the (frank) out of many and has been overpaid and will be looking to be even more overpaid in an environment where the team simply can't afford to overpay him.

There is no need for a Willy vs Marner debate or need to choose which one you are a wife of at all - they aren't competing for a spot like a Reimer vs Bernier thing but somehow it exists.

If anything it maybe makes more sense starting next year since both are due to make in excess of 10M per year next season.

The more money that is thrown around the worse it gets As in politics money is NOT the answer. Knowledge of how to run something like a tight ship is more important The more money that is thrown around without a return on investment is just plain STUPID.
