Meh, bringing Domi worked. Bertuzzi was useful although not as good as I thought he'd be.

Signing Nylander was the right thing to do. He signed Matthews to a new contract too.

So far, aside from the Klingberg fiasco and the "low cost, no reward" Reaves signing.... he didn't do too bad.

Big decisions to come though.

well they are golfing again. so none of it worked

Trade Rielly, Brodie, Woll for Kadri, Markstrom and Zary.

(I didn’t run the number or check who’s contract says what so (frank) off)

also, we need to relive the Rask trade..so Woll for Markstrom works

Woll will go on to be a Vezina goalie and Markstrom will turn into a pumpkin

Well because of the Oilers rule, that's actually impossible right?

If Tree sticks around, I am not looking forward to how he molds this team further.

If you arent trading a core 4, not much can be done this off season.
Let bert walk, find someone cheaper who replace him, sign domi, find two top 4 D and an average goalie to fill in when woll gets injured 3 -4 times next season.
And a whole new coaching staff

they can advance 2x in 5yrs. They would have to finish last during the McKenna draft. They advanced for Bedard and would need to win again this year for Celebrini.

Pretty much agree. Look at it in terms of 2 years to get pieces they need. If a good top 6 guy at a decent price is available this year, do that now and push some of the D upgrade off till next year when they’ll have more to spend. It really just depends on what’s available

most picks that late dont turn into much. will have to see
2021 might be the best Wyatt Johnston

also the Stars got Wyatt Johnston and Stankyoven with their first 2 picks in 2021

- senstroll

Good and in the case of Wyatt insane …

I’ll still take McTavish & Zellweger -

I still think the Leafs will draft a big RHD with their 1st
- Symba007

Hope so.

Of course you draft for BPA in the top 10, but when the talent drops off I'm always convinced the best thing to do is "BPA in the position you need most".

If the chance is there that the player may suck anyway, or get cancer or drug issues or the litany of things that suck, may as well make the pick by positional needs IMO.

Well they poured their resources into Murray for him last year.

900K and a 150K signing bonus on waiver day like they did to Jones.

Woll is signed.

Sammy....ouf well he said he wants term and I can not see another team giving it to him.

would he do 3x 2-2.5M? I mean I have no confidence in Sammy but unless they trade for Saros or Markstrom the other options are not the best.

- Santo_44

I don't even want Sammy at another repeat of his original 1 x $1.8m. He's unreliable. He came here on a show-me deal, had one good year and then showed he can't repeat it. I think as a backup he has that potential to end up in that Trevor Kidd type of situation - the team posts a solid winning record and he craps the bed with something like a 5-12 record.

Sure . . .he could be good, but it sort of feels like his time here is done. I don't think anyone has much faith in him.

If you get the first overall pick, you're considered having won the lottery, even if you finished last.
