Im a bit pumped, the team is playing really good all around, Where the (frank) did Mika come from?? When Mika gets hot he is usually on a heater for a couple of weeks. Its going to be very interesting for sure.

This, if Mika is on, the sky is the limit. 2 1st lines basically, plus the special teams being insane....

I was actually wondering if Mika has a stutter and I somehow never noticed it before and then Kreids starting making fun of him!!!
- Tonybere

I was thinking Mika just thinks the questions are all so stupid and is desperately trying to stop from laughing at them

I took Mika to win Conn Smythe before the playoffs at 55-to-1 odds. Already down to 22-to-1

Mika has been here all year. He’s just extremely under appreciated by some of you. The amount of heavy lifting this man does is close to what Messier did those years. That ain’t even hyperbole.

If you're going down this path, you need to also acknowledge Laffy's post. That would have changed the way the game was played in that portion of it, as well.
- Tonybere

True, would have been a much needed insurance goal. Point is, they won. Keep it rolling. (Expect a much better game from Carolina Tuesday.)

I mean they the Canes hit 2 posts in the first. Period. The game is 2 inches away from being 3-3 after 1. The rangers played a better period. The 3rd period: despite Lindgren and Fox having a really bad brain fart, Igor was very good.
- blacksheep1

And Laf hit the post in the 3rd!!

that was some shot out of nowhere by Laffy
- jimbro83

Totally.
I didn't see a replay of it, but Ferraro called it a floater that Andersen didn't see. My impression was that it was a laser that he wasn't expecting. Am I wrong?

Also to the point on the 3rd line, (They didn't have a great game yesterday) but they play low event hockey in 5 playoff games this year. Which is fine. They don't gibe up many scoring chances. If it's possible, I'd love to see Chytil give a jolt to that line and let a 4th line of Goodrow-Wennberg-Vesey clean up as needed.

Dude I’m not kidding. All you guys care about is 5 on 5 goals like nothing else matters he arguably the best shutdown and PK center we’ve ever had…definitely since Messier

This is my take on the Win'O'Meter.
It is pretty hotly contested for something that seems to just take ambiguous data like number of shots, time of possesion, etc. at a surface level, without underlying metrics like WHY one team is clogging up the slot and not over-extending with risky offensive plays, or quality of chances, or the fact that we scored 2 PP goal in 23 seconds, while Carolina padded their possession stats and nothing more with their PP's.

I'd recommend to Carolina that they should try and stay out of the penalty box

That's great. Let's move on then.
I come on here feeling great almost every time and then have to read how I'm a bozo for stating the obvious fact that people have every right to post whatever they want.
I have both supported and spoken out against Tom, Jim, TJ, You, JRR, Matt (Greater and Lesser) and everyone else that posts, based solely on the content of their comments. If you feel like I'm continually against you, then maybe you should try having a supportable opinion more often. Either way, I'm done being civil with you. It doesn't seem to bring any benefit.

- Tonybere

If someone would like to prove me wrong, and it’s very possible, I don’t think I’ve said a negative thing since the playoffs started. Saying we need some secondary scoring AT SOME POINT is a “supportable” opinion. I don’t know how that can be taken negatively/wasn’t meant to be negative.

Here is why 5 on 5 matters, because power plays are streaky. Just by nature. Some games they go 50% or better, some times they go 0 %. Mika Zibanejad only having 8 5 on 5 goals in the regular season was concerning. But in 5 games he has one 5 on 5 goal, four 5 on 5 points, plus the power play and shorthanded points. If Mika Zibanejad is gonna be a force in all 3 aspects these playoffs, nobody is gonna remember his sluggish regular season. Because he's paying great now

For sure. I'll never get why a golden opportunity has to be passed up for a more golden-er one!!
It's like he didn't want to be labeled as a hog for the 1st period hatty!

Trailing for about 4 minutes in 5 games is one of the more impressive things so far imo.

I think the puck was bouncing and maybe he thought he couldn’t get a shot off. But man the place would’ve went bonkers if he scored there
