Utah has a great foundation of young quality players and some veterans like TK, Laughton, even Sanheim if he waives his NYC, could be enticing for a new team and a new city that’ll want to compete with Vegas’ success. See, this where I disagree with you. If Edmonton loses Draisaitl given their window is open right now, they are going to want to replace his production. TK + Frost does that. Plus, Frost playing on Edmonton means he can produce more than he has with the Flyers. And Edmonton is getting a 1st round pick also which as you know is valuable across the league. If they want a defenseman instead, the Flyers have options. With Toronto, sure they want to replace the production of Marner but they also lack leadership and grit. Laughton + Farabee not only replace Marner's production, they also provide the leadership and grit Toronto is looking for. Again if they want defense versus a pick the Flyers have assets there to offer. I think the Flyers have the assets to make this happen. Certainly they have more assets than say, a team like the Bruins.

Draisaitl is much more impactful to a team than Marner. I would want him. But TK,Frost, and a 1st wouldn’t get it done. Draisaitl can dominate games for long periods with or without McDavid. He is a big body playing big with aggression. Teams would be willing to give up more.

I think the issue is more one of roster construction. The Canes need more forwards willing and able to do the dirty work in front of the net. That’s the playoff money area when time and space are at a premium due to the change in how the rules are enforced - or not enforced. Now, I don’t know how much influence Rod has had on the roster…

Yes, TK is part of the trade to get Draisaitl. By the time Michkov needs to get paid will be 3 years from this season, and by then the cap will go up even more. Don't worry, it will all work out, trust me
