It’s just not the time to sign a guy in his late twenties to an 8 year deal. They have absolutely no idea what this team will look like in 3-4 years. Why would you lock yourself into that. - ClaudeFather
I don't think they should sign him either. My POINT was that the last thing they should do is let his final year play out.

I also think they would get a better return this offseason compared to the trade deadline. - mickel25
Oh for sure. It would be insane to allow it to get to that point. It would take much leverage away from the Flyers because teams would know if he hasn't been signed by then, he won't be.
Gotcha.... and agreed. I honestly don't think he fits the timeline and they can ill-afford to hand out another large contract with term. Hopefully, they get blown away by a deal but I honestly think they are extending him. - Flyfly
so you agree let him walk for nothing if they cant get "Full" value? that is mind boggling to me

One way or the other it should be solved this off season. I think we all know what that decision will be. - ClaudeFather
Yep, get used to TK being here for quite a while.

Yea, kind of it, I think they will sign him, so they better have a process to play hard ball, have the balls to wait him out if need be. Even if they trade him in the last year of his contract, they will most likely get a 1st, figure that is the floor. He will then be looked at as a 30 year old player, if he extends with the new team then, he will lose leverage. He should see the Flyers willing to sign him this summer vs then, as a benefit and the Flyers should get the discount. Hopefully you get a 1st, prospect and another pick in trade.

absolutely not. They can't... it would be gross negligence. What I agree about is they will extend him if they don't get an offer they like. Same as Bill said last week when you asked him about TK. I never once thought he would not be extended. I like TK but not at the $ he is going to command and the length.

The flyers have zero business extending TK unless he settles for a modest raise and no more than 3-4 years. That’s not going to happen so DB if your reading this the fans that actually give a poop will understand and support trading him.

He’s not a cornerstone piece and should be shopped for pieces that will help land us a cornerstone. This being the Flyers they will lock him up, overpaid and close to max term. Sigh.
I really like Kaprizov's game. Watching him play makes me eager to see Michkov in the NHL. Might not be as good defensively, but does not play a perimeter game in the KHL. - Trox88
I’m pretty excited to see what Michkov can bring. If he was on my team I’d be happy with 80-90 points with shoddy defense while trying to upgrade him to serviceable.
I hope the Flyers don’t insist he play a good 200 ft and be happy with 50 points. An elite Poehling would be an epic fail.
have to love these rat finks on the Columbia campus. bizarro world what this country has/is becoming. - hello it's me 2050
It’s crazy that they’re not protesting the high cost of stuff, reduced buying power, corrupt politicians or any other things that affect us. It’s a foreign war. Paid protesters.
