So Kucherov improved .25ppg while playing with Point? Seems like they both benefit from playing with talented players.
- mickel25

Yes, sure it is possible, but we were arguing whether Point specifically could be termed stratospheric. (Having the boost go both ways does not discount the argument that a Kucherovless Point is a very good but not off the-charts type player).

What I am trying to say is that Point has been a <1 ppg player except for the past 2 seasons and 2018-19. Those are the exact 3 seasons Kucherov has gone from being a 1.25 ppg player (or less) to being a 1.5 ppg. So, I am saying the boost is due to a Kucherov effect and if he played with more mortal linemates, he would be ..say ...a 1 ppg player: very good but not "stratospheric."
- PT21

They also happen to be the 3 seasons where he is pretty much healthy after the first two development seasons

In 18/19, plays 79 games and puts up 41 goals and 92 points
22/23 plays 82 games and puts up 51 goals and 95 points
23/24 plays 81 games and puts up 46 goals and 90 points

It's the seasons where he has missed significant number of games due to injury that his ppg level drops

Are you saying that MJL is wrong about you overall or that he is wrong for how long you have been that way?

And Kucherov was <1 before Point entered the league in 16/17 and they've been linemates since.

Also Point is elite across the board... offense, defense, playmaking, shooting, skating, inside drive, net front play, puck hunt, systems adherence, off-puck positioning, power play, penalty kill, the whole nine yards. He does more for a team scoring 90+ points than other guys do scoring 100+.

Both, but the latter is what was claimed and is trivially proved wrong. The former is somewhat understandable.

1. No, you said my entire existence on this site was playing out a superiority complex. I pointed out I was a placid, polite dormouse for 75% of that existence.

2. The poster who said almost exactly this was Mickel25, way back, n the summer of 2020. Has your mental issues now reached a state where you are having trouble distinguishing past and present?

3. Yes, there is a public record of you, which if I were you, I would be terrified that your kid/s would discover some day. .

- PT21

You have a forum here where you have an opportunity to prove that I'm repeatedly wrong. You haven't been successful in that endeavor in your entire existence on here. Which is why you have to repeatedly have to lob personal insults and repeatedly question my mental state

I never said anything about Points effect on Kucherov. So even if that is a huge + (as you claim), it is tangential to the argument.

And fine but all of those arguments seemed to then be unsubstantiable with data. And the term stratospheric should be generational at the minimum. At the end of the day, one needs some numbers to make your case else you are engaging in grade inflation.

poop seems personal between them. My guess is that Michkov refuses to kiss the ring. He's not exactly a nice guy like Frosty. We're talking about the kid who was telling certain NHL teams to go (frank) themselves at the draft.

He's generally 95-98% WAR IIRC. We're talking about an A+ student.

Kuch is like 99%.

This WAR thing is a mystery to me. Can you provide me with a ranking of current WARs of players? Where is Point in that ranking?

No comment on that interesting display of logic.

On a more interesting note, why are so many of your digs so evocative of the 1940s/1950s kid banter? Who says things "like take your ball home" amongst middle-aged dudes? One time, you told me to take my toys home.

Another time, you asked Fopa21 whether Giroux had stood him up while he went for cigarettes. And that he shouldn't fret because Giroux is a with different girl now and is happy.

Who says things like that today? Don't get me wrong. It's charming in a weird way.

If you (a generic you) are here on a regular basis, you are a loser. You could be a clever loser, a genial loser, an bumhole loser, but the 2nd term applies.
