Nylander isn't going anywhere. It's Marner and you will be WRONG AGAIN!
- Phillywhiteout

I haven't stated that Nylander will be traded. What are you talking about?

Nope. From 2008 (joining) to Feb 2020 cusp-of-Covid, I had a very polite persona and there was no confrontation that I recall.

The comment I made was that you were constantly trying to convince others that you are intellectually superior and a scholar. Even to the point of flat out anointing yourself as a scholar and an educator and other shameful plugs. Not about confrontation. As the other poster has said, really smart people don't have to tell others that they are such.

You sir, have an effortless genius for being incorrect. I have never seen anything like it.

- PT21

Luckily for me there is a public record which says otherwise.

Marner is currently taking lots of $hit from the fan base up there, so he may be happy to get out of Dodge if this series ends badly and he is deemed a non participant by the zealots.
- Phillywhiteout

marner deserves it he's been a whiney female dog even before these events

I was talking about the comments his agent made about Torts that caused Torts to refer to him as a pissant.

Interesting why a player in Couturier's situation would change agents.

Whether he likes it or not he is married to the Flyers. They gave him a sweetheart deal. Down side is that he most likely will not see his name on the SC. If I were him, I would definitely be able to live with that.

It's an insinuation by you. You told JD that Nylander could still be moved despite just starting a brand spankin new contract.

I do not disagree though sometime the players doesn't see it that way. Just a very odd move is all. Maybe brisson is better at facilitating trades than the prior agent !!!

Ha Ha, Tampa coach Jon Cooper in hot water over saying that the goalies should just have skirts on after two disallowed goals for goalie interference last night.

There was no insinuation or prediction of who I think Toronto is going to trade. I offered an opinion of who I would trade if I was them. To which jd said he couldn't be traded because he just signed a new deal. I replied that he can be traded despite just signing a new deal.

That wasn't the common view at the time the deal was signed, months before his back injury.

thank you Sean for leaving some money on the table and getting it done so early
- Coburns_Nose

Again, very nice deal.

Doesn’t excuse some of Fletcher’s stupidity this off-season, but this is a true positive.

- FlyerFan3260

Far and away Fletch's best move
- THE BLACK HAND

This is terrific! Coots once again goes team friendly. Amazing under 8. Getting G for around 5M would work.
- NC Flyers Fan

All around great deal. All the numbers work for me. Stay a Flyer for life Coots!
- SuperSchennBros

This is a good deal. I applaud Fletch.

I have never been a fan of Coots. That said, it is a good deal for the Flyers and any possible trade partners down the road.

- cdearth23

It's a great deal 👌 Loui Eriksson and Karlsson was bad deals from the get go.
- THE EVIL WITHIN

How could anyone knock this deal? There are guys getting 9-10 mil a year that are not as good as Coots….anyone think he should have been paid less then JVR or Hayes?
The player took less for term….good on him. As the cap will start to raise next year this deal will age better then some think. Keep in mind he “is” the Flyers best player.

- landros 2

Good signing, funny though, I remember several years back when all flyer fans were calling for him to be traded.
- mattstake

I think that cap hit is great for the team moving forward.
- Hextall271

Coots did you guys a favor. He could have probably pushed you guys for something touching 9 in all likelihood. even if it stretched it out an extra year.

Better or worse you guys are built to win now. an extra 2 mil going to Coots per year in the next four year window would have been really detrimental.

youre done when hes 37, not 40. absent the mentality of they should have traded him and then tanked (which was never within the realm of reality) it is lunacy to complain about this deal
