Weird how the rest of the team gets off with nothing. They've all been horrible, morgan, matthews (outside of one game), jt, domi.
Marner needs to step up for sure, but no one has been good |

The PP being so abysmal is baffling considering the offensive pedigree this team has. - mjones242
that because they always are looking for Matthews and they 1pp unit is out to long imo.
and shot the puck at the net man would also help. |

This is true. They are too predictable, Matthews has 2 goals in the past 10 playoffs games.....forget always trying to feed him the puck on the pp. |

you will need to sum up the article
not all of us have access to the Athletic - dmnted
I paid a dollar a month to read it.
but basically
Briuns finished ahead of the Leafs, won all 4 reg season games (never trailed)
maybe they are just the better team..and its that simple.
evidence on the ice also suggests this.

that was good.
lets hope Marner and the team have a better game 5.
otherwise on the exit interview, I'm telling Marner to give me 15 team you will accept a trade to. |

same. Time to try something else.
I saw a trade prop of Marner for Alex Peit. which is the type I think would help. but he is now 34, and I dont know how effective he is anymore. Needs to be a Top pair #1 (RHD) to make it worth it. but the options are limited

I agree that Marner has not looked himself... but I find it incredible that the rest of the team has been given a free pass.

Great offensive numbers, 6' 3", right handed shot, 24 years old. It would probably take Marner and Liljegren to get him. Since Marner and Liljegren, I think where drafted by Lou, they know them. Islanders badly need help up front and this trade makes sense. Leafs might need to hold half of Marner's salary for this last season to make it work. Dobson's cap hit is $4M. Leafs might also want to expand that trade to see if they can get Sorokin as well. He fell out of favour with Roy, so they might have a knee jerk reaction to move on from him.

Pietrangelo maybe 8 years ago.
Dobson?
I heard someone say Marner for Keller... I don't think the Leafs do that. |

Ths Islanders won't trade Dobson unless they are convinced he's not signing a new contract.
After the season he just had, he's easily a top 10 defenseman in the league. |

Hoping that game turns out to be a wake up call especially after what I was told this morning! I’ve seized multiple times but they must have collected the info they wanted because they’re starting to build me back up, I may be out of here in a couple days to watch a game like a normal guy
And by normal I mean have a beer in my hand, that’s all I need |

Leafs are a really good regular season team.
Against Boston, I am missing how folks are seeing Marner as the primary problem.
I think they might be seeing what they are looking for and expecting to see.
Does Marner get pushed out merely because folks want a huge trade this summer?
I can't think of a viable trade where another team would do "the deal" and it makes the Leafs a better team. One exception, I did like the proposal where the Leafs try to duplicate the PLD Winnipeg/LA deal and get multiple 2nd and 3rd line players. But those kind of deals almost always flop.
There is a need for a few guys to step up and caution against doing a knee jerk Marner deal.

He's still VGK's 1D and they'll likely go deep again, so I don't see them making that move at all.
Plus he's 34, he will slow down and when he does, it'll be fugly (like Brodie dropping off a cliff). |

While leading the core 4 in PPG in the playoffs, some of the Marner hate is misdirected.
Having said that, his east-west Junior moves and shying from any/all contact (even Willy drives the net with regularity), plus his on-ice crybaby antics (he's at sophomore Sidney Crosby peak levels) makes him a huge target with the fans.
