If Carolina wins in 5, will our series start asap? Or, will the league slow play it until other series begin to wrap up?
- Bean_Dip

I believe the NHL waits until the entire first round is over to start the 2nd round so we’d both have long breaks

This is what the tomorrows game chart will look like when our 2 combatants go at it tomorrow morning.

Lets enjoy the win and rest while other teams beat each other up!

He’s fine. He got a cup. Respect from other teams fans. I’ll never forget that goal he scored when he was twisted into a pretzel on the ice.
- Slimtj100

And I was rooting for him to win that. He won it, now move on. Wouldn't be surprised to see him retire after next season.

See, I see it as Carbury is moving on from Ovie and he sees it, he’s depressed because his coach doesn’t believe in him, is not running the team around him, take a man’s pride you take his motivation
- irishgerm

Carbury is in a tough position, but one he signed up for. Ovi isn’t going anywhere and the caps will sell tickets just at based on Ovi chasing the goal record. That may be to the detriment of the team but ownership cares more about the record than wins at this point. I can’t say I blame them it’s an incredible record and he’s 41 goals away

Nice!

We’ll get a chance to rest. We’ll get a chance to prepare. We’ll keep working. Gotta stay focused, and I trust this coaching staff to execute.

Ovechkin looked just plain bad but I think that could have multiple reasons.

His team sold at the deadline, that has to (frank) with you. He also might have been injured. It was very strange seeing him be a liability.

Awesome sweep

Also Ovi just looks washed

- TPC

An absolute ZERO this series, looked awful defensively too. No fire, no emotion. Got called out by his coach and still ----- NOTHING!

You and I are huge Ovi fans that wanted him in Blue no matter what age. Rethinking that now.

My only concern. I think Laviolette will have them ready, maybe with Chytil in. I believe that should be it for Rempe barring injury.

He finished strong this year which may have taken a lot out of him in hindsight

Rempe did his job this series. But yea they need to have a different lineup vs the canes, they’d eat Rempe up

I could easily see JBrod and Chytil playing with Wennberg and Rempe scratched. They’ll need more speed vs the canes is the long and short of it

Brodzinski is a plug. I think Wennberg is better.

It could, but I wouldn’t say “at this rate.” Despite his playoff performance he scored 31 this year. He needs to average 21 over the next 2 years to do it which is very doable. It’s possible he does it next year. Remember that the regular season is not nearly as difficult as the playoffs to score and he ended the year at a torrid pace.

Either way the caps options are rebuild and not sell many tickets or chase the record and sell out

Just because JBrod is more of a 4C, but Chytil should be between Cuylle and Kakko. Roslovic got better as the series went along, he’s fine on RW1 for now

These series take on a life of its own so who knows who will play. Chytil is a difference maker if he plays tho

I think we see a lot more of Rempe getting the home/away treatment. When Lavy can control his matchups I can see him playing game 1/2.

Probably also depends on chytils health. I would rush Brod into the lineup but if Chytil is ready I think Rempe has to be the guy that comes out

Wennberg has taken some unnecessary shade here. He’s been incredibly responsible and she that 3rd line was out, especially with 79-4 they dominated possession all series. He doesn’t show up on the scoresheet at much but I think he’s been good

They can really game plan for the canes now. No way the isles can win but get to game 6

We can fight about only winning these games by 2 goals lol
