I liked him during the 2021 draft and it looks like I was actually right. Wyatt Johnston was the pick over othmann. Producing at an insane level already. Not saying othmann wont be good but Johnston a center and already a 60 point player - nyrangers2
I wanted L’Huereux. Not saying anything bad about Othmann, he hasn’t even had a chance yet, but L’Huereux would’ve been a lot of fun to root for. |

A good buddy of mine who is from and lives in Toronto said Marner's dad is also a real problem. He is controlling and demands unreasonable things from the organization. - banger94
Good lord. Marner is 27 years old lol
Daddy is still involved |

In a game they (the Leafs) had to win, I don't see see the likes of Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Reilly, Domi, Mccabe, Reaves on the score sheet.
This whole debate is very dumb.

Why? How is it impossible that both things are correct?
You're absolutely right that pretty much no one on Toronto has shown up. But, it's also right that Marner was called out for acting like a baby instead of redoubling his efforts. And by all reports, Marner's father is an ass, like Lindros's was and the way Nylander's caused the Leafs problems by encouraging Willie to hold out. None of these are mutually exclusive. It's only dumb if you refuse to see it in anything but black and white. |

As I deferred to the one who is actually in the Greater Toronto Area. I've heard Marner was a bit of an issue, but didn't know it stemmed from his father. Rangers99 is right in the middle of Leaf country. I'm just on the outskirts. |

I was there one time, during the 1996 finals was walking down Yonge Street near the Hall of Fame and bumped into Glenn Healy, there was some kind of Festival going on because it was like Yonge Street's 100th anniversary or something

lol Hey Boys. It was well known growing up that Marner's dad was a bit of a psycho parent in the arenas. They did a special on him and Michael Mcleod's parents during a tournament. There are some clips of Marner's dad in here that he's yelling at Mitch but because the cameras are on, he toned it down compared to the usual.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OY-C2-uatyE - Skip to 4:48 in the clip. It isn't that bad but like I said, it was a lot worse when the cameras weren't around. |

Dumb was the wrong choice of words. Arbitrary I guess would be better. You're right both things can be true, and if he wasn't producing it'd be more rooted. But right now he's the scape goat for a mediocre team with bad goaltending> just doesn't make sense for me. |

Nice. My wife and I were walking around downtown one time years ago and ran into Ken Dryden. He was happy to chat for a few minutes with complete strangers on the street. Super nice guy. |

Fair enough. I don't think anyone was implying that Marner is the sole cause, though. This has been brewing for years with the way they constructed that roster. That is part of the reason I've always been leery of us signing another big name player. |

As a coach and a father there are a few things that are cringe worthy in that expose.

So, I'd expect Cooper will be on the hot seat today for his comments about goalie interference due to crease battles being like "we might as well put skirts on them." |

I mean considering they are the only NHL franchise to have woman dress in professional game as a goalie, it was kinda dumb. Potentially alienating are portion of your customer base also seems like than logical. But what do I know. |

Because, what the hell else do we have to do? We still don't even know when our next game is!! You'd prefer it if we just ran through the same arguments one more time? |

Not trying to look too far ahead, because it's not guaranteed the Rangers will even make the ECF, but would you rather face the Panthers or Bruins if they make it that far? Panthers have looked good, so wondering if it's best to have the Bruins win tonight and be rested to face them. |

I think if the Rangers play the Panthers that arena down there will be at least 90% Ranger fans, so potentially 7 home games
not the case in Bahhh-ston

First reaction is that we would for sure rather face Boston than Florida. And also, that Toronto is done. So, your logic is sound that it's probably best for us if Boston get through and gets rested. |
