How does he not?

They can't sell this product anymore.

- fifty__missions

Sure they can.
Youve seen people on here just eat this team up, no matter how obviously flawed it is.
There's an excuse.

So, looks and sounds like Mitch started the little fracas on the bench, then Auston and Willy bit back…especially Willy.
- Woderwick

Mitch is really whiny. He's always been that way. I don't see AM or Willy carrying on like that, particularly Willy: I don't think I've ever seen him complain to a ref.

My bet is that Tree cleans house on the coaching staff, retools the defense as much as possible and looks for a veteran coach.

From meghan chayka

"In arguably their biggest game of the season, the Maple Leafs created just one high-danger scoring chance (and Mitch Marner scored on it).
The Bruins had six high-danger scoring chances in Game 4"

How much does Matthews get paid to do those Kraft Dinner commercials? He probably ate a whole box and got sick. I've heard Marner had that hissy fit because Matthews told him he wasn't invited to the Kraft Dinner after-party.

It’s 2024 and people still believe covid shots stop transmission? Probably not but arrogance, ignorance and dishonesty are very common. Definitely applies in this case.

Hopefully Willie’s migraines aren’t related to his covid shots. The timing is suspicious. Probably another coincidence.

September 2022 Willie stated he began using a tinted visor because of migraines that started the season prior.

- Strider

please crawl back under your rock and stay there man.
This has nothing to do with covid

I don't think so. What happened last night was too visceral.

What team gets booed on home ice in the middle of a playoff series?

If they try excuses with this they will lose a significant piece of their fanbase. You can no longer sell this product.

Maple Leafs Square is where all the real fans are, but they deserved to be booed. Still can't believe Keefe said lack of effort wasn't the issue.

I don't feel that way at all.

As someone who has advocated changing this core since we lost to Columbus, I'm glad that the failure of the concept of the "we can and we will" Shanaplan/Dubas core four has finally hit home with the vast majority of Leafs fans. All I can say to that is, it took you long enough. Too many wasted years running it back.

Ownership is going to palpably feel this from the fanbase. They cannot sell this product anymore.

Where we are this morning is vastly better than doing "just enough" once again to run it back.

It's finally time to move on from this failed experiment. Should be an interesting next couple of weeks.

I was struck by the contrast and approach between the stars and the Leafs last night in similar desperate situations…

Stars came out tons of shots in the first, on fire, on the road, keeping Vegas on their heels… getting dragged into it by their 20 yr old stud C - Wyatt Johnston ….

While the Leafs seem content to let the game come to them…and just an apathy that is disappointing….

Getting blowtorched by your own fans in a playoff game that’s just not something you see every day…

Apathy is a fanbase killer. Watch it happen if they try to run this garbage back.

Meh, the team has been booed before.
They wont lose anything of significance for a long period of time.
They'll get a new coach and staff, along with some new dmen and come October, all the angry peeps will watch again.

How long have you been watching the Leafs guy?

They're going to sell out every game regardless.

Just because their bottom line won’t suffer with first round losses doesn’t mean that they won’t do what they can to turn 5hings around. There’s not a lot they can do this summer anyway, other than bringing in a new Bertuzzi, Domi, etc.

For normal fanbases.
Not this one.
Look how horny people get about reg season results, goals, streaks on here.
They quickly forget about playoffs results, cause its "a new year".

Im all for big change, but other than the coach and staff, i doubt they move off the core

Besides, the leafs win the next 3 games lol.

Hasn’t that been what they’ve been doing for the last 5 years ?? bringing in the new Domi Bertuzzi…. Reevo, Klankburg… Rearranging the chairs without addressing the actual issue…
