Is the deal happening before or after July 1st?
- kingcong39

I hadn't thought of that. What is the concern? Is there a bonus due to someone?

I literally just said this to you. I honestly think this might be the dumbest topic ever approached on here, and someone last week (gee I forget who?) suggested we trade for Crosby.

I genuinely feel bad for you for what you said in this post.

You just compared Stefon Diggs, a football player who hasn’t set a single record, to the best American born goal scorer in NHL history who has shattered previous goal scoring records by American born players.

What is it like to be so unintelligent? Serious answers only.

My point was that a good gm calls a team if they want a player that looks disgruntled.

I compared Diggs to Austin Matthews because maybe Matthews is sick of the leafs.

If you don’t ask. You aren’t doing your job as a gm

Frank Gore Sr.

"We’re good. We're going to Buffalo man to do our thing. Tell them they better be ready-trust me. I know what I’m raising. Folks slept on my son; they slept on me too--they'll see. My bloodline is for real. Our (pre-draft) testing was identical. All the scouts were like you can tell that’s my son. I !@%$ with (Brandon) Beane. He’s the real deal. I’m happy to get my son to this point. We’re coming to play. Buffalo got a dog; I promise you that. I don't give a %#$ about a draft pick. We’re about to party and do our thing."

I had no issue comprehending what you meant but Adams is the last guy who should be making a phone call to trade for a disgruntled player.

You just come across as naive and clueless while trying to sound informed.

It’s so asinine to say if you don’t ask you aren’t doing your job as GM. You and I have zero idea what does or does not make a good NHL GM.

Ffs most of the NHL GMs seem to have no clue.

You are selling your house, garage, yard and Toyota Camry for a Mercedes Benz and if this doesn’t tell you how ridiculous your suggestion, proposal and defense of your clueless mindset is, you need to stop posting for a few days and clear your head.

And I have to ask people to stop using the Gretzky trade as an example of “anyone can get traded”.

Gretzky wasn’t “anyone” and his talentless wife had him by the balls and so then did he with Edmonton. He basically demanded a trade to LA so she could fail in life, then went to New York so she could double-down on her failures.

Not to mention Adams isn’t a good GM so there’s that

Yes I am naive for wanting my GM to get a price check on an elite player.

How silly.

So Adams should sit on his butt and not make any calls on players to see if they are available?

Overall, I think Toronto is the one who would say no.

They're looking to win, and I don't believe Savoie offsets the cost of them taking on Skinner's contract for 3 more seasons, even if Buffalo retained a bit as you suggested.

They are going to get cap freedom after next season with Tavares contract running out.

Tavares is due a $7M bonus on 7/1.

After that is paid, his salary to be paid during the season is only $910K.

Toronto especially wouldn't do the deal if they also had to pay the bonus before trading him.

Thanks for spelling that out. I also expect that Toronto would say no. I guess it would depend on how badly they want to get younger, faster and cheaper. I suspect the move will be with Nylander or Marner.

Could be both Marner and Nylander, with Matthews being the only sure thing in terms of players they decide to keep.

I guess its too much to ask the nhl to put the best player in the world on TV during prime time on a Sunday?

Does anyone not in Nashville want to watch preds more than mcdavid?

Does anyone outside of NYC give a poop to watch the worst team in the playoffs get swept more than seeing mcdavid?

They did that last year too. Just another example of the NHL being terrible at marketing themselves .

Talent willing to work hard trumps all. Toronto's other problem is that it is top-heavy in terms of salary. If you put your eggs in one basket, that basket better produce.
