Glad to see they are interested in signing Petterson early. Was worried they'd pull a Guentzel on him.
If EK's list represents our best options at LW, ouch. Guentzel and Stamkos would seem to go against the reasons they traded Jake, though I'd welcome either. We know what Jake can do, and Stamkos would be that top RH shot for the PP while providing some center depth in case of injury.
Beyond that... Noesen? Drouin, Bertuzzi, Mantha as bounce back candidates.
Would we be comfortable trying a bounce back with DOC as plan B or go bigger for Guentzel or Stamkos? - Tojo.
I've been torn between going big with Stamkos or adding someone like Bertuzzi or Domi for the top LW spot.

Ek posted a list of the top 5 free agent centers and 4 of them are mostly wingers. |

Tampa is nothing without PP. Kucherov is a fake. |

This Tampa Fla game is something else. Great hockey until they gift Tamps PP. |

Bringing G back is the best thing we can do but until I see an explicit report saying the Pens are front runners to resign him I am dismissing that as fantasy land.
Don’t seeing us being in play for Stamkos.
What I always say is that UFA is where hopes and dreams go to die. What I think we should do is not rely on free agency at all and find a high value trade for a middle six LW to push DOC for his current spot. Basically exactly what we did to bring in Smith but not strike out this time.
Beyond that, yeah we’d have to settle on a bounce back candidate. - Victoro311

Rumor from an Ellport Bar: CHEF Carter and Bruce Boudreau will be part of our coaching staff for next season. - sufi-judge
LOL! They're only two bars in Ellport.

I’m surprised by the lack of OT so far this year. Guess parity isn’t what it seems if half these series are sweeps |

Makes me think dubas was going to get rid of Jake since there was zero chance of talks right till the deadline let alone rumours of a new contract before ufa day on their final year. |

If youth movement is to actually happen I’d like to see Yeager Ponomarev and Koivenen given fair shakes at the top six. Recycling Jake Guentzel around isn’t the answer to anything. |

Carter isn't coaching next season. His exact words were he is going to be a full time dad now, that he's missed so much time with kids. |

Buddy I'd trade Graves for Freddy Gaudreau if I could. FG was an awesome 3rd/4th line C for us and we let him go.
Just unload Graves, Acciari, Smith if you can. I'd argue Jarry could go too if we could re-sign Nedeljkovic for half his price. |

I could totally see Ned having a stinker season next season, wherever he is. Happens a lot. Goalie position is very fickle. There really haven't been THAT many goalies in the history of the game to be stellar pretty much every season of their career....and of the ones that were quite a few played for a team with very stingy D structures and systems...the Pens are not that haha |

If you can give him a part time job with the organization I bet he'd take it right away.
I'm a 43yo dad myself and it hurts my back just to think about spendind more than 10 minutes carrying my son lol but than again hockey players have a whole different physique. |

Why not give a real chance to Sam Poulin as well? I'm not familiar with Ponomarev's game at all. We still have Broz to work with.

What’s Poulins game though? Like he got called up, purposely went after Eric freaking Gudbranson with a bunch of cross checks, Then turned down Gudbranson’s invitation to dance got lit up and took a penalty all in the same shift. Is he a scorer? Is he tough? I’m all about giving young guys a shot and having some cap flexibility but not quite sure what Poulin’s angle to the NHL is. Three guys I mentioned have been Offensively gifted players their whole lives, put them with players that can help them with offense. |

If Pono is in your top 6 you have a disaster.
Koivunen has the talent for it though. |

Debrusk having a solid post season might have increased the odds of him resigning in Boston. Or priced himself out of Pittsburgh |

I can’t see Guentzel resigning. He signs a 7 year deal and in 3 years he’s back on the trade block. Unless that’s what he wants, but I’d assume he’d want to stay with a team like Carolina who should be favorites for the next 5 years versus a borderline wild card team |

He could be a player dev coach, like Cullen was, which doesn't require traveling with the team or even going to games. That would leave more than enough time to be annoyed by your kids. |

Guentzel has 1 fake goal in the easiest series he’s going to play. Just worry about your team. |

Aren't we keeping our 1st RP pick if they make it to the 2nd Round? Or is it to the finals? I want our pick bad. |

Give poulin a 10 game shot see he can get hurt and we can move on. Kids a dud.
Send him + to Montreal for xhekaj. Even if it’s just for baby xhekaj. |

Nothing to do with our 1st. That's likely gone to SJ depending on the lottery.
Pretty sure we need the Canes to make the finals....the Philly 2nd upgrades to the Canes 1st. If they win it all, we get an extra 5th. Go Canes. |
