That seems like a high AAV to me - corduroy
My first thought for sure….I thought maybe…3.8 over two years….1.9AAV. |

Ivan Fedotov agrees to 2 year extension with a $3.25 mil AAV. Kind of steep don't you think? |

Wait a second, recently you labeled Konecny the face of the franchise. A player that is that player is not worthy of a big contract in your eyes? That's a contradiction. - MJL
Right now he is and I would love to keep him, but at the right price. |

Tortorella uses healthy scratches to an extreme. He also does it with pettiness. Tortorella does that because of his limited tools as a coach. He does not handle young players well. He uses a familiar and repeated pattern with young players. When they inevitable inconsistencies with young players happen. He loses patience quickly. Cuts their ice time, demotes them in the lineup. Instead of coaching them through it, using positive reinforcement and continuing to give them opportunities. He takes away opportunity and degrades their confidence further. To the point where the player just degrades further. It's poor old school tactics and many in the Flyers fan base buy that nonsense. It also ties in with Tortorella's preference for certain types of players. A perfect example is the last must win game of the season. Where after basically one period, Tortorella benches Frost and Brink and plays Poehling 19 minutes as his #1 center. I'm shocked that they lost and only scored one goal. Sometimes it can be a necessary approach but it's not sometimes with Tortorella. It's his only approach. That's why he is a poor player development coach. I pray that Tortorella is not the coach when Mitchkov gets here. - MJL

Agreed! I really hate the Laffs for some reason! I just love watching them fail. I think it's their obnoxious fan base that does it to me, but not sure. - Phillywhiteout
100%.
They over value every single player. If Frost was a Leaf..he would be on a Hall of Fame career path according to their faithful.
I like some of their players, and feel bad for a talent like Matthews for the repeated playoff failures, but nothing,(besides Flyers success) makes me happier than a Leaf loss in the hockey world.
Followed closely by the Canucks and Penguins failing. |

I'll reserve judgment until the guy has had a full camp and some preseason games under him.
The AAV is a direct result of his UFA status and the Flyers' desperation in net. |

The only thing that this is good for is sponging up cap space to not make a further larger mistake |

Post #1 of the day of you replying directly to me. When are you going to admit that you were full of crap when you posted that you don't read most of my posts?
You're a neanderthal with zero intelligence. Opportunity needs to be given consistently. Especially with a rebuilding team. Guys like you talk about how important the experience of big games is for young players and then accept when a young player is arbitrarily benched behind some outdated mantra such as ice time needs to be earned. - MJL
you are so boring no wonder your wife left you. do you hold yourself accountable or blame her? |

You re not able to realize that is has been earned and he and Brink both deserved the opportunity in that game. I hope Frost is traded so he can get away from Tortorella and his bias. Frost is not a soft player. - MJL
yet how many post do yo respond back to him cliff? should he start numbering them as well...you are such a turd. |

You and Landros2 responded to my post at roughly the same time. Your response is not about hockey, it's about picking an argument, while Landros2 responded intelligently and clearly wanted to discuss the situation. You should rethink your strategy. |

They are in no position if they are actually serious about rebuilding, to re-sign TK. Make no mistake he’s our best player. From the start it’s been about what “actions” DB does….not what he says.
I think DBs actual plan will come into focus over the next few months. - landros 2
That's right, the Flyers cannot fall in love with their own players, let's see if that is what happens. And again, I love TK, but I highlighted a while ago the most recent 7 or 8 year contracts that have been signed across the league and it's clear TK is somewhere in the middle of these contracts in terms of AAV, that is why my starting point with him is $7.5M AAV. If he wants $9M+ the Flyers need to trade him which would stink but that is what needs to be done. |

At least for me that is going to bring some much higher expectations for him. I don't want to see him being sent down or hear about him trying to adjust to the NA game.

I agree to a point. I’m not really worried about the 1.5 $ difference….it’s more the direction, time line and what the actual plan is. So far they all say the right things, except for Jones’s radio quote…but I see a mixed bag of actions that leave me wondering what the plan actually is. |
