The same way I've known everything else. I didn't think you could be a bigger ass but you proved me wrong. - MJL Dude, you bring the ass out of everyone on here with your snotty/condescending attitude. I luv how you say you never name call and yet you do it all the time. Turd! |

I have. It's pretty bare bones operation but the fares are so low you can look past that aspect. - Briere
may try it on next Florida trip.
I drive down to Baltimore and use southwest as they still seem cheaper and I like them as never any issues. |

So the head coach basically called his captain a liar? - corduroy
Pretty much what I said as he said it.

Bill would you be surprised at all if the flyers acquire Chychrun? - hello it's me 2050
No. But I think Chabot is the one they covet if they could get him. |

You call me a resident know it all and then whine when I call you a name. There is that lack of self awareness again. Your post lacked any intelligence. It is the equivalent of "I'm telling my mommy" Offer a counter point. You have no clue on how a post of "how do you know that, do work for the team" is incredibly stupid. If you don't know about what I posted then you're either not paying attention, incredibly naive or are just plain stupid. |

What happened to Desnoyers this season? I thought he would compete for a fourth line job with the big club. My wife says I’m wrong about a lot of things… |

It's the same ole $hit on a different day. It really does get quite monotonous. No offense of course.

I like dhis game while he was up with the Flyers last year and thought he had NHL potential, but have no idea what happened this year. I don't watch the Phantoms much, so I dunno...

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for this summer. If Rocky Thompson is the PP coach at the start of next season then Torts should be fired if he wants to die on that hill. No one is pulling the wool over my eyes. I'll judge this team on what it looks like on October 1st. WE will know then if it is status quo and more of the same. I think many folks on here are jumping to conclusions based on the past. I'm not saying anyone is wrong, but I'm guessing no one actually has a crystal ball to know what's going to happen this summer. - Phillywhiteout
I agree. I will judge them on their moves this summer, not talk in April. To those saying 10+ years etc, this is a new management group. What have they done thus far that isn’t a rebuild? If they resign TK and keep Rocky, I’ll be beyond pissed off. Torts will be gone mid season next year. His time will be over once they start losing again and he continues to be an ass not playing the kids and trying to mess with his vets heads. |

One obstacle is they only have return flights on certain days. So, you need to be flexible with return dates.

Only one I am rooting for/against is Florida. Doesn't mean much, but hopefully a better 1st rounder.
Edit:
I believe the best pick the Flyers could get out of the Florida one is 24th if...
These teams lose in either the 1st or 2nd round:
NY Rangers
Dallas
Carolina
Winnipeg
Florida

|
|

Flyers versus Canes was supposed to be the first round for months. I wonder much icetime Frost would have got 🤔 |

As a group, you all have problems with adversity.
Hart may be jailed.
Risto had a major injury.
Coots eventually slowed down.
Ersson too.
Atkinson lost his needed step.
Goatier didn't sign.
Drysdale arrived injured.
The list is long.
Some youngsters have yet to mature.
What were you expecting?
That they wouldn't stumble while being hyper-extended?
I do hope that with a few 'breaks' (non-orthopedic) we have SOME more success after the 'sowers of disaster' efforts fade into a fitting oblivion.
I await what the draft brings.
I understand Torts better than I understand most of you. He's working with a team that was poorly constructed over the prior decade. I do not recall him ever being considered a savior by any cognoscenti.
That 8 game L streak was crushing. So is the PP.
I think that these highlighted the team's worth. Moderate/marginal. But they were getting to become a team.
And this team outshot their foes by about 6 shots a game. Considering the talent level, HOLY CRAP!!
That's the key stat to me. Finishers are the essential difference.
I understand they aren't cheap.

I keep reading comments from Briere.....
- "We are not giving up on the youth"
- "We need more high end talent"
- "We are not going after talent at the expense of youth" and finally
- "We are not doing a FA long term deals"
Does a situation like this actually exist in today's NHL? Fact of the matter is.....
- if you add talent via FA you can only go long term
- you can really only draft high end talent if you draft early, i.e. tank
- if you want established non-FA talent you have to give up on the youth
It sounds like they really have no concept of today's NHL.. - mr4tno
My interpretation is they’re going to look to make deals but for younger players only. A guy like Zegras for example. He’s a young player so even if they trade young players for him they’re not sacrificing youth. Maybe they’ll also look to move up in the draft (my preference).
Also, this summer’s FA class isn’t very good so him saying they’re not going to go long term on a FA is actually smart. That may change in future summers. |

My worry is that a player like Zegras will be oil and water with Torts.

That sounds about right what the Flyers would do. A nice healthy LD that never misses games and has a high cap hit.
Absolutely no chance he would he come over with high expectations due to cost paid and get multiple mystery injuries. He would be a great partner for Ellis.

I'm more worried he would come in and plateau as a 60 point player no matter who the coach is then want a big ass extension.

He is exactly what we need. A 8 million a year part time defenseman.

It's comical when you keep track of rumors and players that the Flyers are said to like. It really opens up what the organizations mindset is.
They really like the damaged goods. It makes sense that other teams would be open to trading those players, but the Flyers always find a way to pay full price even with risk.

Shots on goal from this team mean nothing. Torts freely admitted that once other teams tightened up and limited their transition game and stretch plays, the offense dried up. He admitted that they need more coaching with creating offensive chances once in the o-zone. They didn’t work on that enough, hence the horrible power play. When they wound up with the puck in the offensive zone, they did one of two things, dump it in the corner or put a shot towards the net. This team made the other team’s goalie look like a vezina candidate on a nightly basis. |
