Purely from a scientific method point of view, wouldn’t it be better to kill Stonie and then watch tonight’s game? - Atomic Wedgie
Better put on the hip waders. I'm streaming the game from Meth Island in the middle of the swamp with a ring of fanatically-loyal gator bodyguards. |

Just beating Boston would make make me happy. I know, pretty low expectations. But what have seen this team(core) disappoint for so long I just don't see them going that far. - rSole
I share a mutual hate for Boston. I wanna see the Leafs beat the poop out of them. That would feel nice. |

Nylander gets far too trashed tbh… not every player in the modern league is physical anymore… that game no longer exists.
Marner is over-loved too… he gives up the puck the second worst on the team, only behind Rielly… he’s actually the one not worth what people think he is. Talented as hell? Yup. Also risky as hell? Also yup. People seem to like looking past this basic info in order to maintain their hatred for Nylander who drives the net like crazy but also skates around the offensive zone. Still I’m hoping Marner gets a better overall control and doesn’t give up the puck much in order to use his beauty setups for the shooters. If that happens we will be laughing. - Dozzer
I'm not saying that Willy isn't talented. He really is. He's unpredictable. Can we live with that contract? Probably. We can't win with another one just like it. I really hope that Treliving can find a way to trade Marner and get some assets for him. If he's allowed to walk, it's not the end of the world. The assets would be of benefit, however. When I talk about the Corporate ownership, they over promote players with talent because they sell the game. Winning hockey teams aren't always glamourous. Some teams that have won the Cup in the last 20 years didn't have many poster children as promotional props. When I look at the last 8 years, I see a shiny new sportscar that sparkles in the sunlight, when we need a pickup truck to push through the mud and the rain. Bertuzzi isn't pretty, either is Domi, but the fans love guys that'll drop the gloves and give that extra effort, with lesser talent. If we want to see pretty paper, the Habs or the Sens may be that. Leafs are now at a crossroads and need to transition into that truck and win it all.

Brodie is our worst defenceman by a mile. I would like to see Gio in though. I think Gio would give everything he has out there. Likely is his last dance. |

I get to root for the LEAFS first. GO LEAFS!
Tampa doesn't play until tomorrow.
Whether the Lightning beat the Panthers or not, I hope the Bolts will curb-stomp Tkachuk and Bennett.
If the Lightning lose to the Panthers, then at least we will soften them up a bit for the Leafs in the next round.
If the Lightning win, then we'll meet again in the next round and then I'll be in a tough position as a fan - watching two of my teams go against each other. It was hard last year, and it stresses me out thinking about it again. - GalacticStone
I am hoping that Tampa wins that series. I have competitive hate for some of the Panthers players. They can be a low-brow team and cheap shot opponents to injure them. Cousins, Bennett, Tkachuk to name a few. If the goaltending is equal, Tampa has a shot. I'd give them the same odds as Toronto vs Boston. 55 - 45 against. That's not a big difference percentage wise.

You have a valid point, Wedgie.
I think we would sleep better if we saw this through. Stonie has given his prediction for tonight. Let’s see how this unfolds. I’ve already been speaking to Skalapy. He’s getting his Ghille suit out of storage just in case. |

I hear you. I'm on a coffee break too. I'm not ready for yard work yet ..next weekend looks better. Instead I get to build a murphy bed today. |

Absolutely. I do think the Leafs have a good shot here but gonna be a tough series they need to play 200' Hockey all 4 lines at all times. Very tough to do in the PO's but the Leafs have some depth. - LordHumungous
Yeah tbh it’s Winnipeg and Toronto I really want to see stepped up games from with who they landed in the playoffs. So here’s hoping all four lines work great for Toronto and that Hellebuyck plays like a stud for the jets.
Hoping Edmonton (aunt lives there) and Vancouver (former bandmates are there) give me the expected series wins as well |

Giveaways is a very misleading stat, because the less you have the puck, the less opportunity you have to give it away. - Atomic Wedgie
Then you shouldn’t pass it as much when you have it then.
That little stat can be looked at multiple ways. |

Skalapy said gator tastes great. He’d have no problem snapping a few pencil neck 10 footers as a warm up. |

I agree ....it's going to be tight playoff hockey. Sammy needs to be on and our blue line can't be poop. Rielly and McCabe might end up getting close to 30 minutes tonight. |

You just nailed this perfectly. Keep the core and just start bringing in the guy who do the net crashing and board work they don’t. The failure of Dubas I think was his failure to do this, hence why it showed.
The other thing to consider is the cap is going to start rising fast moving forward… the league will be over $100 mill by the halfway point of nylander’s contract for instance. Stop thinking we will continue to have that bloody Covid lockdown of the cap increase. We’re going to see about 5% increases every year, and I’m being conservative saying that. |

Its just this simple...
AM 34 is the best player in the series... If he plays like it ... Leafs win..
If he's a passenger ... Leafs lose.
Everything else is window dressing.. |

Wife is coming off a night shift so she is sleeping. I’m trying to keep the house quiet with the kids. It’s a long day…..but she goes back in again tonight and I’ll have kids down by 730 and it’s peace and quiet tonight. It’s going to be glorious |

But all the other gamers are playing
It’ll come down to how well Sammy plays, but I think they come out victorious tonight. |
