it's the sad reality with a coach like Torts, he pushes guys very hard, he has a very short term lifespan with a team but it is effective....short term. He gets teams to overperform for 2yrs...then the players get tired of his BS

there's a cycle, yes, but he's more liked by players than people tend to think.

I wonder who they'll pair him with... it could be considered a bold move but I think on the first pair with Savard would make the most sense, I'd hate to see him stuck with Kovacevic on the 3rd lol

Devils started Luke Hughes on a third pair last season, he moved up the ladder on his own, let Hutson do the same.

makes sense I guess, it's true that it's already enough of a big deal to have an NHL debut, might as well go with baby steps and let him get adjusted to the pace.
