Other then Ryan Johnson, aren't all the rest likely 2 to 3 seasons away, if not more, from being good NHL players?
- kingcong39

I think Novikov could see some time as a call up next year, but more likely the year after. Yeah the others are probably 2 or 3yrs away. That's why I put Hakanpaa in there for a couple years. Think he would add some grit and could be a decent partner for Power. After a couple years you will have a better feeling on Komarov or Strbak, even McCarthy and Lindgren.

Probably right.
I'd love for them to draft either Lindstrom or Yakemchuk get some nastiness into the org.

Small peanuts, it's the cumulative that is killing us. Him, Okposo, Olo, Jost, EJ, Comrie and Robinson just aren't NHL players. Infuse the lineup with a couple ELCs (probably Rosen and Kulich) then sign a couple good bottom 6 guys and we're in MUCH better shape.

Need that 3C IMO. Good on the dot, 200' game. 39 has been touting Stephenson in FA ... Not sure what his contract would be, but at 30 could they get him for 3years?

He may be good enough to convince a team to offer more, but I would wager, with an overpay, we could be convincing. Him, Couture via trade, Monahan or Roslovic would all be positive contributions to this team. There's been other guys mentioned I like as much or more, but mostly are pipe dreams. I'd love to pry Pinto loose from Ottawa, as an example, but fat chance they trade him in division.

This seems like good planning.

Did Eiserman improve from last season to this season?

Doesn't look like it by the numbers.

Not that it matters though as it looks like he'll be off the board by the time the Sabres pick.

- kingcong39

PPG is up 1.416 from 1.375. Guys scoring just over a goal per game.

Could still be there, IMO a lot of the top teams need a Dman and theres several good if not great ones this year. All depends how the board falls. He's also been falling lately due to his play away from the puck.

Depending on what Joker wants I would trade Samuelsson. I think Novikov is gonna be a better version of Samuelsson.

We should get back to the topic at hand:

How awesome Jack Quinn is. Did anyone else see that toe drag goal last night? Masterful. This kid is going to (frank) about and score 30 next year.

In his absence I started to leave him out of the future equation, but he is quickly making a believer out of me. Again.

The injuries are still a cause for concern, but yeah, he's got the ability. Happy to see people are seeing the same.

I'm praying he can stay healthy as I really think he is a big contributor to our success overall.

30+30 maybe? That'd help pull Cozo up by his bootstraps anyways.

He's a top 10-15 winger in 2 years if he stays healthy

Agreed, I'm so excited for where he could end up and he doesn't look like he lost the step, like we expected from the Achilles injury. I know it's a big if on the health, given his history, but hopefully lightning doesn't keep striking the same spot. The Hertl leg sweep injury was so freak.

That one upset me more than the offseason injury. Hertl didn't have to do that to our boy

Unwise you use the word break as part of a description for Quinn with his injury history.

5 years, $6M per for Stephenson.

Too much IMO for 3C... Especially over 5 year term.

OOOOoooooooOOOOOO

That's tough. Lot of money to tie into the bottom6. Think I'd be stuck at 4 years at that price, but I'd still be excited if we got him. Is that his comp for next contract?

The projection is for slightly under $6M per, but I upped it due to Buffalo.

Overall, if we continue to worry about cap hits and being a bargain franchise, we'll continue to see a cycle of mediocrity as we've seen the past 2 to 3 seasons.

If he's interested in the Sabres, go and get the good player and figure things out after.

All top quality teams do the above.

Why can't the Sabres?

Be interesting to see how Adams handles this.

If he loves a player. They get 7 to 8 years

If the player gets bridged. ask Mittlestadt what happens
