To spare you the embarrassment, I won't list all the stuff you've been dead wrong about as frankly, no one should care.

Remember how supa awesome Vic Fangio was gonna be for Miami?

- sbroads24

Miami’s defence was a top 10 unit the second half of the season and handed Mahomes his worst playoff game this past season.

With the offensive support Allen gave McStupid, he knocks Kansas City out of the playoffs.

Thank you for bringing up how not hiring the Payton/Fangio duo cost you guys a parade downtown this year.

Keep this bookmarked for when Vic leads a top unit in Philly this year, I’m jealous of the staff he has put together. It hurt to see him steal Christian Parker from the Broncos, he will get a D-Cordinator job next year.

Yeah Florida is definitely regretting those win now trades lmao.

Dude you're money on here baby

Once again, forest beyond the trees.

If Reinhart re-ups in Florida, then that take ages horribly.

Until he does, Florida gave us a #1 goalie and a bonafide top 6 forward prospect for 2 years of Sam.

Neither has proven either yet. Especially Kulich. He may just be Vic Olofsson with a sweet jaw line

Keep it bookmarked and let me know how it ages.

Within a couple of years it will be third pairing money, Samuelsson also ranked 9th in the NHL prior to his injury in quality of competition.

It will age like fine wine.

Just like my Peterka, Skinner, and Benson takes.

Usually taking the opposite side to your takes has a 95% hit rate.

- Swedish_Jesus

This is all your takes. "Hey guys just wait a few years and I'll be right".

As far as my hit rate. I nailed the 2023/24 Sabres season to a god damn T. And guess what? It annoys me because I am not an egomaniac who cares about being right on twitter or a message board.

1 more than the Dean.

They both have something in common though, both have lost in round 1 with their best player being Kevin Fiala..

- DirtyDan

Did Dean coach a team to multiple playoff berths while working significantly under the salary cap limit?

Seems applicable to the Sabres coaching vacancy, no...?

I dont know did he?

I do know he's lost in round 1 four of six seasons in the AHL... he didnt make the other 2. And the 3 he made with Minnesota he lost in round 1.

If the goal is to just make the playoffs, sure he seems like a good candidate. But I'd like to get there AND make a run.

if I was Adams, and I wanted to be the gm for a while

I would hire the best offensive minded coach he could get as long as

he gets the best d coach, goalie coach and pp coach that money can buy

then draft the best RD with pick 11ish
then trade for the best RD player you can find for a few years and the best middle 6 winger you can find for a few years
grab 2 true 4th liners that are pests to play against and well rounded pk guys

that leaves power and johnson for your bottom pair and keep whoever is the 2 best for injuries for the 7th and 8th d man

probably clifton and bryson and trading joker

hope a few of your kid prospects can score in the nhl with the right coach

Well yeah, when a majority of one’s takes are future based predicating on things happening in the future they generally take time to play out.

Don’t forget the Rangers.

Don’t forget the Bruins severely regressing now that their leadership group is gone.

Don’t forget Tampa missing the playoffs

- ImThatGuy

I was a year early with these ones.

I’ll give you credit for the pull though.

I won’t give you credit for cowarding in the corner though after mocking me about Detroit for weeks.

We’ll see if Sabresfan69 comes out of the closet at some point too

Don’t you see the flaw in the back patting then? If everything just gets pushed to next year you’re never wrong

And guess what? No one cares about anyone of us being right or wrong.

I thought Tyler Myers was going to win a Norris until like his third year in Winnipeg.

I get that we're all cathartic poopting on Granato but all of these "country club" comments from the locker room are an equal indictment on the poopty job Okposo did as captain, and by extension, Adams's decision to bring him back.

I agree, and Tage had a Career Year because of the Center Whisperer Granato making the switch.

“It’s just these young guys,” Okposo said during the Sabres’ locker cleanout. “They want to learn. In the NHL, we have a lot of different egos with a lot of guys that want things for themselves. We’re very fortunate on this team where if you were to pan to the bench when there’s a goal scored, everybody is genuinely happy for that person. And that’s not always the case.

“It’s extremely special and something I’m very proud of.”

Each player on the Sabres this season, from the youngest to oldest, has detailed how Okposo fostered an environment in which everyone felt comfortable to speak. The factions that existed in past years were eradicated once Okposo became the unquestioned leader of the group at the start of last season.

Personalities of all kinds are accepted and encouraged. If anyone needs help on or off the ice, they know they can call Okposo. At 34 years old and 16 seasons into his NHL career, Okposo captained the Sabres to within two points of a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. His words of wisdom guided them through adverse times and his relentless work in games and practices was a beacon for a team filled with players under the age of 25.

“I think he’s been the best captain I’ve had," said Zemgus Girgensons, an alternate captain who has been with the Sabres since 2013. “He’s one of the guys that I look up to, and I think a lot of the success here is because of Kyle and the way he handled things. I think he held the team together, the times in need, he was always there. He’s a part that was huge for us.”
