Two things that bothered me from yesterday.

The Terry Pegula has a lot going on thing is (frank)ing bullpoop. Yes, I know your wife is long term recovering. I get that. But it's a (frank)ing farce that your owner can't speak to the fanbase in 4 entire years. (frank) off, Kev.

Second thing is, "The standard wasn't good enough since Day 1 of training camp". That tells me you knew it was garbage all year and did nothing about it before it was too late. There's no excuse for that.

Sounds to me like he immediately realized that bringing back both Okposo and Girgensons was not only a bad move, but perhaps the worst thing possible.

You remove those two from the lineup, you have Erik Johnson as a veteran with playoff and cup experience - maybe the reason he blew up was the complete lack of accountability from his coach and captain(s).

Jost as the 13th forward, Olofsson in a roster spot so he can actually do something to get traded.

By the time he traded for Robinson, he was grabbing at straws and already throwing in the towel. He banked the entire season on Kane signing here, and ran it back so everyone from last year could have a chance to be around him and honestly, he should be fired for that reason alone but it’s whatever at this point.

At the very least he admitted his bottom 6 needs more abrasiveness. Which I think is vague for not being hard to play against. So the realization is there.

Repairing that with a bunch of has-beens is something he simply can't do.

Gallant's consistently short shelf life everywhere he goes is a red flag for me.

I'm not telling you he always gets what he wants. I'm not even telling you he's good at his job. That's subjective anyway. What I am telling you is, when he tells you something, he does it, or at the very least attempts it when it comes to player acquisition.

There's 32 coaching positions in the NHL and there are guys clawing over each other to get them.

I think if it's 2014, you have little interest because you're brought in to specifically fail. This team has a ton of talent that's been poorly structured. I would think a lot of NHL level coaches would be highly interested in this roster.

He will find an experienced coach. I can guarantee you that. Beyond that, all we can do is hope it works.

Irrelevant, Terry doesn't want to experience more foot in mouth.

Berube - couldn't gain any consistency with the Blues after the Cinderella run for half a season.

Ruff - couldn't get the skill heavy roster in NJ to balance out their play

Gallant - success every where he goes then something happens behind the scenes and he gets the boot.

Boudreau - a fatter version of Donny

If the accepted approach now is coaches need to come in waves to improve this team every few years, Gallant is the guy out of that list.

My first sentence was he doesn't always get what he wants. I also didn't make the case of him being successful. Clearly he hasn't.

But when he has the ability to be honest, he is.

When he tells you he's not going to go big game hunting in UFA because the team is still evolving, you saw it.

When he tells you he believes in UPL, well.. here we are.

When he tells you he's hunting for a top 4 D, he's doing it.

He's been transparent the entire time he's been here. Again, don't take that as "Good". He's been transparent.

He will get an experienced coach. Whether that guy works is a different conversation.

Ruff is the only coach the Sabres fired since 1998 that has gotten another chance.

Well that, and this is precisely why he should hire a president. If he doesnt have enough time or energy, that's perfectly reasonable and understandable but you can't use that as an excuse on one hand and still want the title.
