Great read as always Jan!

The outcome of this game is not surprising to me as I felt before it started that the Isles needed these two points more than the Rangers needed them. I know this is the Islanders, but I am not losing sleep over one loss to them. The things I am more concerned about is starting games with more intensity and passion as they show as the game goes on. Stop putting yourselves in a position to have to play the comeback game. This will be tougher to do consistently in the playoffs. I feel too often they appear as if they are 'getting a feel' of the other team in the first period and they end up scrambling from behind. Start the game as if it was the second or third period.

Regarding Pelech's hit, I don't see it as being intentional and agree that was just a fluke play, however that missed boarding call on Dobson against Trocheck is dangerous...for anyone. I love how in pro sports, refs are very rarely held accountable for their actions. Yes, sometimes mistakes are made, but when they are spotlighted and obvious, there should be an explanation of the non-call. Not when the public and media pressure you but step up and explain yourselves. There were two refs on the ice and neither of them made that call. Someone should have to answer that and not just fine the player or manager/coach when it is spoken about. Yes, you have to curb every little comment, but in certain circumstances, the refs should be held to explain their actions. Forget changing the outcome of the game, you are risking someone getting seriously injured.

Rangers need to put this behind them, beat a very lost Philly team, then come back Saturday with energy and a vengeance, and beat the Isles at home to clinch the division and perhaps damage their chances of making the playoffs....with or without Rempe.

Can you imagine if the Isles fall to the second wild card spot and the first round is at least 4 more games of these two teams?

I switched to the Islanders broadcast after it was 3-0 for supersticous reasons to try and chance things up and Butch Goring constantly, I mean constantly, complains about calls the entire game, he never stops, even icings

its no wonder that all my Isles fans friends complain about officiating all the time

Except I don't hate Panarin. He's been great. Should get Hart votes, but he and the rest of the team need to win a championship.

That's my bar, that's where I want to be. If you're content with them losing, more power to you.

(I showed how good Panarin was yesterday with The Charts™. You freaked out about it. I think he need clearly define what is good and bad, then get back me.)

Sources: #NHL is drafting two schedule versions for next season - one with #Yotes in Arizona, another with the relocated franchise playing in Salt Lake City.

Fluid situation. Lots of moving parts. Details on dual paths and a potential transaction.

this new theory that's all the rage where powerplay goals don't count is truly amazing

is it ok I jump when they score powerplay goals this coming playoff season? what's the ruling on that

I dont hate Panarin, Im disappointed in his playoff performance but Im very upbeat about these coming playoffs, he has changed his style of play quite a bit and is playing a bit better defensively.

Now Mika is another story altogether. Im being cautious optimistic about his play in the upcoming playoffs.

I simply put up a video of Panarin scoring a playoff overtime series winning goal (I apologize it was on a powerplay) and two guys lose their minds over it

I think you are really taking everything personally. What the hell is wrong with you?? You definitely need to medicate these up coming playoffs, matter of fact, if the Rangers lose, we should put you on suicide watch.

Last night impressed me. After the first period it looked like it could be an 8-0 loss. But the complete opposite happen. They were far and away the better team for the last 40 minutes. People will focus on the first 20 because it’s how they are, but you had expect the Islanders coming out strong. Bottom line, if that game went on for another 5-10 minutes, Rangers were tying it. To do that vs a desperate team is impressive no matter how you look at it.

Rangers will sure be motivated to kick their ass Saturday after the late hit on Trocheck and that fact they dominated the game after a bad first period

Nothing about that game has me worried expect for potential injuries

Once again, his story is still unfolding. I can tell you a short story of a few big name past signings or trades and how many Cups it brought to this team. Gretzky, Messier (2nd time), Holik, Gomez, Drury, Nash, Richards, to name a few.

To say I was less than ecstatic for all of them would be an understatement. We all know how many Cups they brought us.

Exchange the words "a video of Panarin scoring a playoff overtime series winning goal (I apologize it was on a powerplay)" with the words "analytic charts with absolutely no commentary" and the statement would remain true.
Why is one ok and the other isn't?

I mean you and I can disagree Brukie and not act like unhinged lunatics. Some people can't. The internet is an incapacity of common sense. None of what you said is wrong or bad. Some skin has become thin.
