Flyers as a team are a collective -30 for one game led by Drysdale -6 and Seeler -5.
You don't see that very often. - Flyers_01
It reminds me of the Sanheim-Myers pairing in Madison square gardens a few years ago. |

I feel like its destiny for Ovechkin to score a hat trick against the Flyers last game of the year |

Can’t wait to hear the brass spin this at the end of this season. It’s a fing embarrassment. - Flyfly
I don’t think Briere is surprised. I mean he did trade for Erik Johnson, a center that was never going to suit up for the team and a reclamation project for this magical playoff push. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
My only hope is Briere is smart enough to know exactly where they are and what they have, and with some luck what he needs to do. But it’s a long shot. Even if he does, will be permitted to do what is needed? |

They haven't quit in my opinion. The Flyers falling out was predicted by many. It was obvious why it was going to happen. It's been happening for the last month or so. - MJL Wasn't predicted by you. You had them making the playoffs.

They're not blocking shots like they were a d they don't look very engaged... at all.
This is not the same team at all.
To me, it looks like they quit just by the lack of sacrificing they once gave.

No one predicted this type of collapse. Absolutely no one. |

I see your stance and get it.
But the team quit. Cold turkey.
I guess we will find out why during the summer bit this organization is a mess and stays a mess and I don't understand why - Bob Habib
I think they quit as well. Yes, they played grinding hockey all season, but so do other teams. Some of the games like Chicago, Columbus, and Montreal were winnable. We also just aren't that good and it's like they stopped caring after working so hard. It's a shame.

Sure it was. I posted that I thought it was going to happen numerous times. I posted that the Flyers success was a mirage. I was right. When it got to about 8 games or so, with the Isles struggling at the time and Washington on a losing streak. I believed the Flyers would limp into the playoffs.

Yes, they're physically and emotionally spent. They played at playoff level intensity to compete. Impossible to do for a full season.

i mean it when i say i never want to see TK, Coots, Sanheim, Farabee, Frost, Laughton, Atkinson, Deslauriers, Staal, Johnson, Errsson, Seeler, Cates, Poehling, Hathaway or Risto ever again. Am I forgetting anyone?

They should rest Coots the rest of the season. He's one guy who will be back and there's no reason to make his body break down any faster than it already is.
Let him heal up, even if he doesn't want to.

I’m not even saying you are wrong….they did fall off a Cliff. All year they were able to right the ship quickly…that just didn’t happen this time.I thought from the start they were better than a bottom feeder. I’ve liked that some of the young guys they have appear to have grown. But that’s not how I’ll remember this year. The last 2 weeks have been that bad. - landros 2
And that's what we can take from this season. Some of the kids have stepped up. Frost seems to have found his game.
York has raised his ceiling substantially.
Tippet took big steps.
Tk kept his trade value up (hopefully they make the right decision).
If ersson wasn't run into the ground he has shown that he is a decent to good goalie.
Foerster is a damn good hockey player!? A 200 foot player at that.
I'm just disappointed that we didn't get to see the kids play more. I'd have liked to see Ginning and Attard over the corpses of Johnson and Staal, too.

maybe now we get a fire sale
literally everyone should go except the two gingers.
maybe we should have kept walker and unloaded everyone else. - anti-lame
That always sounds good but we will need teams that would want to take our players and their contracts. I hope there are changes but doubt there will be many. We have a lot of nice players but they are 3rd and 4th liners/2nd and 3rd pair D on good teams.
Then there's the contracts on some....ugh, now I'm depressed. |

if fedotov doesn't sign himself up for the russian military after this game and he wants to stay i'll give him a year.
drysdale is a kid i'll give him half a year and if he doesn't play better i'll lock him in my basement |

Don't be a fool. I clearly stated in my reply that I said that I believed the Flyers were going to make the playoffs with about 8 games to go. That doesn't change my other numerous statements made all season long on the issue I saw with the team and with Tortorella's coaching. Washington and the Isles struggling at the time was the factor that led me to believe that the Flyers would limp into the playoffs. I did not feel that the Flyers would fall off as hard as they have.
